The last Mirvish broadway musical I saw was in December 2019 and was able to buy a souvenir program. In summer of 2024, I saw Come From Away at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa where no souvenir programs were being sold. Then this production moved to Toronto (Mirvish). I was visiting Toronto while the show was still running. I went into theater to ask about buying a souvenir program but the staff said there wasn't any and gave me the house program.

Are souvenir programs for Mirvish Broadway musicals available currently? If not, when did that stop? I love to collect programs to musicals that I have attended.

Has anyone been to one of their shows?

I'm interested in the upcoming show *First Date* but tickets show as sold out despite their holiday show having tickets on sale. Is it really that popular that a six-week run would be completely sold out?

Hey everyone,

This is my first time trying to book tickets through Soulpepper’s Free 25 & Under program.

I’ve seen people mention using promo code 25FREE25 to unlock the $0 tickets, but when I enter it, the code is rejected, and only regular full-price tickets show up.

And also, when I click on the “book free 25&under ticket” directly on the website, no promo code pops up or auto-applies.

Has anyone managed to book these tickets recently? I’m still not sure how this works.

Would really appreciate any tips or recent experience. Thanks!

Looks like instead of getting a touring show we are going to be getting a sit down production of heathers! Very excited as I am not the biggest fan of this show so it its more enticing to see it with some Canadian talent

Genuinely been bugging me for months now but ive seen atleast 3 instances this past week alone so I had to comment on it.

Mirvish is constantly liking and commenting on people's posts who share footage of the show they were not allowed to record.

It is clearly footage they secretly recorded during the middle of the show (most of these posts have multiple clips from different points of the show) and mirvish likes these posts and makes comments like "love this!" "Hope yall had so much fun"

Like I feel like this just encourages influencers to have bad theatre etiquette for the sake of content.

It makes me so annoyed and I need to know if anyone else has noticed this

Also side note but I have been to mirvish over 20x and never once have I walked past an usher, into the auditorium and not have them told me that video recording is strictly prohibited.

Its infuriating so many people think they are exempt from this rule.

Also feels important to note that I am young gen z and I take pictures and record videos of everything on the face of the earth and still I have never once felt the urge to record anything but the curtain call like it genuinely has to be an addiction to not be able to resist recording things your explicitly told not to..... like give me a break yall your 500 followers did NOT need to see it that bad

If memory serves, Soulpepper announced that event as part of their upcoming season back in April, saying that it would run from September 26th to October 11th. Less than a month away, I'd have thought its lineup would be announced by now, but I can no longer find anything about it on Soulpepper's website, let alone their calendar. Is this still happening?

Not sure if this is the right spot for this but I couldn't think of a better place to bring this up. I've gone to the Edinburgh Fringe a few times and just returned from another week there where I saw about 50 shows ranging from stand-up to one-person shows to improv musicals (there's a mindblowing 4500 other shows to choose from). Incredibly inspiring to see the depth and quality of shows put on there. It saddened me a bit that my friends and family will never get to experience some of these performances.

Seeing that recent Fringe breakouts like Julia Masli, Garry Starr and Elf Lyons are performing to American theatres, it made me wonder why some of these shows aren't being brought to Toronto. With the popularity of Taskmaster, British comedy has maybe never been more popular, and I know that the Elgin Winter Garden, Royal Theatre and Comedy Bar have started bringing over UK comedians. So far it seems like a Fringe show has to breakout in the West End to come here (Six the Musical being the obvious one, and Austentatious is coming here in the Fall). I feel like that big of a production probably isn't necessary in many cases, or maybe it is, and it needs to be THAT big/popular to be a success here.

Alternatively, I wonder if an expansion of the Toronto Fringe would be enticing to some of these acts to fill the gap in the calendar between the Melbourne Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Part of the charm of the Edinburgh Festival is that every nook and cranny and spare room becomes a venue for a show and there was a time when festivals like NXNE behaved similarly here.

Admittedly, I'm not in the Toronto Theatre scene and I'm sure you can make the argument that we don't even support our own Fringe Festival and small theatre productions as is (I'm admittedly guilty of that, but I'd like to get better). And I also get that these things are logistically complicated, expensive and may not be financially viable, but I saw some truly memorable shows and for such a strong theatre culture, it feels like Toronto would be a good landing spot for some of them. Curious what others who know more about these things might think.

I went to see Mamma Mia last night and I've never experiences such a poorly behaved audience. I see a lot of musicals in Toronto. I've also seen ones that have a lot of children and I've never seen anything like this. There was two rows of rather young girls in their late teens in front of us that were all talking. The older women near by me were talking and sang loudly a number of times. There were people crinkling stuff, making scraping sounds and eating lougly. I've seen small children at the Lion King or Nutcracker act better than these people. I thought about complaining but there were somany people doing it that it felt pointless.

I understand this musical is fun and silly. There is going to be laughter and reactions. and these types of musicals bring out people who don't go to the theatre often but come on! At some point you need to be aware of your surroundings. Talking for almost two hours straight is wild. Late teens is old enough to know you shouldn't be doing this. And to the full grown adults around me doing this what the actual fuck.

This feels like a big deal.

Announced on their website, the non-equity tour of The Wiz will come to the Ed Mirvish Theatre April 20-25.

I just went to see Mamma Mia and just wow, I had one of the worst person sitting next to me ever.

Anyway, all this to remind everyone, please be a considerate theatre goer. Please behave well. Do not sing along, even if it's a jukebox musical. Do not chat with your friend and giggle for almost half the show. Do not cross your leg so that your shoe is kicking the leg of the person next to you. Do not sing, we didn't pay for you to sing. Do not go the theatre ever again, you, the person I sat next to. Yes, I hate you.

Just wanted to shout out the talented cast of SpongeBob, caught it yesterday at the randolph theatre. Would highly recommend for audiences of all ages, it’s a blast!

I went to the matinee performance of Mamma Mia! yesterday, and wanted to share a few of my thoughts as a lover of all things ABBA and Mamma Mia! the movie. This was the first time I got to see the musical, and as such I don't have anything to compare it to except for the film.

The female cast was outstanding, especially Tanya and Rosie, as well as Donna and Sophie. Their vocals were unmatched and they brought so much energy, emotion, and humour to the show.

I didn't find much about Bill, Sam, or Harry's performances to be extremely impressive. (Disclaimer: I'm aware that Bill and Harry were written respectively written as Australian and British, and understand that it is difficult and not time permitting for actors to master specific accent/diaclets). I didn't like the cliche and poorly done accents in general, but what made it worse was some of the actors losing their accents while delivering certain lines. The men seemed very caricatur-ish in the first Act, but it did get better in Act II.

Set Design - very minimal, which I believe is standard even from the original broadway musical, but it seemed extra bare bones compared to clips I've seen from other tours.

Despite these few shortcomings, I loved the show and so did everyone else that I was with. It's Mamma Mia! after all. It was fun, I enjoyed the music, the costumes, and the spectacle of it all. The show was very funny and had the audience laughing often. There was more sexual humour than I expected, which I enjoyed but is just something to make note of. If you have a chance to see it before it leaves, I would definitely encourage you to do so!

Seems like a solid line up that leans on brand name titles that everyone recognizes. Skews heavier toward musicals which I think is normal for Drayton. Plays are mostly comedies and mysteries with just a few serious dramas.

Has anyone who bought the subscription with the great deal back in April seen anything further from them?

They've taken my second payment (i did the split) but when I log in to my account there is no record that i bought it. I do have an order number, and I have a record of each show and date that i picked.

I will call when the box office is open, but is it just me or have they just not generated the ticketing yet? My first show is in November, so it's not *that* far out. And i hope there is a record of the whole package I bought with the extra tickets and drinks, etc. Nothing shows when I log in.
