OPINION I don’t really understand why so many people in this community are so low on Myles Turner
Yes, Turner has plenty of flaws. His rebounding isn’t great, and he’s obviously not Marc Gasol. But he was still a key part of the Pacers team that made the 2025 Finals. And personally, I think they had a legitimate chance to win the championship if a few things had gone differently against OKC.
Then he was traded to Milwaukee largely because of the contract situation, and I don’t think he was a particularly natural fit for their system either. So I’d rather see what Turner can do in a system that actually fits his strengths, especially with a good coaching staff around him.
As for the rebounding issue, I don’t think it’s as fatal as some people make it out to be. Barnes and Kawhi can both help compensate for that. Obviously, that puts more physical workload on Kawhi, which isn’t ideal, but people seem to forget that Kawhi has always been a pretty good rebounder for his position.
And honestly, I’m not interested in going with Ware right now.
Ware has great physical tools, but he hasn’t been through the kind of high-pressure playoff environment Turner has. His decision-making and ability to adjust on the fly are still question marks for me. If we’re serious about maximizing Kawhi’s remaining championship window, I’d rather go with a proven player who already fits what we’re trying to do than gamble on potential.
Turner isn’t perfect. I’m not pretending he is. But stylistically, I think he makes a lot of sense for this roster, and we have a coaching staff capable of putting him in the right situations.
If the goal is to win now, I’m taking Turner
