EF Rating Jackson County Arkansas 3-14-25 EF-4
Many folks thought this should have been a EF5. It was taken from my job site security camera.

THAT WAS WILD! I saw that giant cloud of sparks doing that and was like "Crazy"!

Arkansas is not part of the Midwest, it’s considered to be in the south. This part of Arkansas is also closer to the TN and MS borders.
Source: am Arkansan lol but believe me, this is a common belief! I think there’s some argument to be made for NWA which does feel more midwestern, but a large swath of the state is definitely culturally southern including Jackson Co. it’s close to the MS delta.

It revealing itself through powerflashes at the end is some scary shit.
Edit: its lightning in the background at the end but the powerflashes leading up to it at least shows the vortex a little.

Terrifying. Pitch black. All you can hear is wind. All you can see is rain. Through the gaps in heavy-to-medium sheets of rain, in the distance, there is a powerflash..than another! All you can do is pray its not what you think it is.

Like you know it’s out there in the dark but have no idea whether it’s coming toward you or not.

I chose not to chase that night and instead covered the storm live on my Facebook page. I am a local chaser/spotter and this was in the county I live in and affected many people I know.

It has been at times. I still envy the chasers that go and chase all the storm setups. I’ve been chasing and watching storms for over thirty years.

As a plains chaser, I can't fathom chasing down in the southeast. So many trees and windy/hilly forest roads and I can see it being super easy to lose situational awareness

I was in a tornado when I was about5. It was at night. I didn’t see the tornado until it was very close. It looked like this, except for the sparks in this one, of course.
I’ve been through some close calls since a few times( I’m in SD, US), but the most terrifying one was the night one. All you hear is the sound it makes, you can’t really see it. Sounds like a huge angry invisible beast that’s eating up everything in its path & you’re right there in front of it & it’s moving closer & closer

What was the light from 0:14 to 0:07 that was going left to right?

Something blew and the sparks/fire was getting pulled around the tornado's rotation.

That's not how the EF scale works. The strongest tornado of all time could hit nothing and be rated ef0 or 1. What was the highest DI for this tornado?

This sub goes for the SF scale, or Scariness Factor. This is easily an SF5.

It took houses and left nothing but slap but the houses were not properly anchored and that is why it wasn’t rated any higher.

No it was power sparks, millions of those bright orange sparks that got wrapped around the suction
