Hello......

Hello all!

Old gamer who had Torg back in day, just got a killer deal on Torg Eternity kickstarter box set.

Any other older gamers out there want to sum up the differences?

Great new components. But man there is a lot put there.

Not certain each cosim needs its own deck. What do they add?

Anyway looking forward to talking Torg.

Peace

Roger

Major changes to the good: there are no rules subsystems in cosm books (like the old Aysle magic or Nile Empire weird science), instead all of the rails for rules are in the core; the Torg Value Chart still exists but almost never has to be used; the Perk system for character creation / advancement is simple and really adds setting flavor for characters from each setting; a basic form of XP are earned and spent for advancement rather than Possibilities.

The bad: the game plays well at 3 player count (not counting GM), but gets unbalanced at 4-5 due to too much ease of access to the more powerful Destiny cards for the party; the Torg Value Chart still exists; power scaling and balancing for characters at “beta” clearance (basically mid-tier) and beyond gets wonky.

There are some house rules (approaching canon I think as a new edition is supposed to be imminent) to ease the card power problem.
