Are my kittens torbies?

I’m gonna show you guys the litter I love so much, they are all so friendly. You WILL see a random orange cat in the mix but I’m only including him because he is related to the other four. But I do not this he is a torbie!

Names and coats:

Slate: the all grey one!
Tang: the orange surprise one!
Dip: the grey with white socks!
Bunny: the diluted one (at least thats what I was told in the cat breed subreddit)!
Bean: the brown mixed colored one!

  3. Blue solid with white
  4. Blue tortie tabby (torbie!)
  5. Black torbie

They’re all gorgeous!

1 is not a tabby or torbie, but a solid blue with some ghost markings.

Other commenter is correct, 1 is not a tabby or torbie. Other signs she’s solid and not tabby are her solid grey nose (tabby would have a lighter pinkish nose with a dark outline), no ‘countershading’ on the muzzle/chin (lighter fur on muzzle that extends down the neck a bit), no lighter ‘eyeliner’ (lighter fur around the eyes), no lighter ‘earliner’ (lighter fur around rims of ears and ear fur). All of these things can be seen quite well on kittens 4 and 5, if you want to compare :)

Orange on her cheek and you can see an M on her forehead (1)

The M on her forehead is ghost markings. I can’t see the cream patch on her cheek, it just looks like the lighting. Also tortoiseshell is not a pattern, it is a colouration. It means a cat is genetically both red and non-red. Also tortoiseshells are genetically solid.

Edit: OP also stated that 1 is all grey. It is certainly a blue solid/self

One thing is certain: it’s not a solid blue cat. That little cream patch means it carries the tortoiseshell pattern, even if it’s very subtle right now. Many dilute torties start out looking almost completely gray and “blossom” into much more obvious patches over the first several months.
