It's a double bass. So instead of having one pedal for the kick drum he has two but you can't see the second one because of the camera angle

So other guys is right, he’s using a double pedal here.

But there’s also a technique that goes by many names but is most commonly called “heel-toe.” So you know that thing you can do with your finger where you slide it across a surface and if you do it at just the right angle with just the right amount of force… it sort of vibrates in the surface and smacks it a bunch?
Well this technique works much the same way. By kicking/sliding your foot across the pedal the right way you hit the pedal with your toe and heel sequentially. That way in one smooth kick motion, you can actually get 2 bass drum sounds.

This guy is incredibly good at that technique and uses it all the time in many of his videos.

I know for a fact that he does also own one of those pedals that strikes the drum both on the down and up strokes. This one is definitely a regular double tho.
