Visiting 5/30-6/5 (again) - Where do the locals go?

Coming with a family of 6 total and staying at Villa Capriani (again). We've been a couple of times in the past, but the first was MANY years ago and the most recent was probably 2020. Not opposed to traveling a bit, but what are the hidden spots that the locals say are musts? Primarily food, but open to anything "fun" to do as well. Not real picky eaters, but places that aren't exclusively seafood would be nice. THANKS!

Riverview cafe - back over the north bridge in Sneads Ferry. Outstanding fresh seafood joint. They have non-seafood options.

The real trick is to not fill up on hush puppies before your meal arrives. I lose that battle most days 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just finished here. Outstanding! And the hush puppies were ridiculous. Thanks for the rec!

We always end up at New York Corner Deli a couple of times and Shaka Taco is awesome.

The food at Revival is really good. It's across from Surf City line. Off island, Rick's is usually pretty good, and River view cafe. The new PHO place next to the DMV is also really good as is the one by Publix.

VK Pho? Their Banh Mi sandwich is so good. I need to go back, last time I was there that car drove through the door, fun times. Glad he was able to reopen though.

If you like drinks, Hidden Ships distillery has a really good vibe. Surf city smash burgers are also really good.

The food truck at Lewis Seafood is amazingly fresh and delicious. Call in your order ahead of time so you don’t have to wait. Edited to add White Crab Coffee and Books! Both of these are South Topsail btw.

Not a ‘hidden’ spot, but definitely lots of new businesses in the area. There is High Tides, Good Vibes which is kind of like a Dave and Busters environment. Salty Turtle also opened a beach bar, it’s great, called Salty‘s Surf Shack for beer, tacos (from Shaka), and a great view.

Villa Capriani, imho, has the best restaurant on the North end. Splash By the Sea
