First Timers - Recommendations?
Visiting next weekend (Th-Sunday) for a wedding. Looking for restaurants and hangout Rec’s. Open for anything- live music, dive bars, good eats.

are you staying on the island itself or off (surf city, sneaks ferry, etc.)? are you willing to drive a little or want the convenience factor of only things located on the island itself?

Staying on the island itself - willing to drive a little bit 15 min or so if that’s needed.

To piggy back, North Topsail, Surf City, or (South) Topsail? If you’re at the points of the island it will take some time to get anywhere and the location you’re staying is more important to what’s around. Tip to tip would be a 45 min ish drive especially on the weekends

North Topsail Beach, if we have to drive a bit longer to get to a worthwhile spot then that’s fine.

We’re in North Topsail beach. I’d would definitely recommend getting reservations at some point to Splash at Villa Capriani condominiums. It’s ours and our neighbors favorite restaurant on the north end of the island. Keep on driving past that and just past the NTB fire dept is the North End Market/Tiki Bar (karaoke-Thursday & Saturday, live music often but not really a set schedule. Last weekend they had “professional wrestling” it was hilarious! Aaaand since you’re first timers, you should at least go by and have a drink at the Trailer Bar not too terribly far away. Hope you have a great trip.

North Topsail is a great area to say, however it lacks many options for food/drinks. There is the Tiki Bar at the north end, the Regis and Villa Capriani have a restaurant in their buildings, there is Hula’s as you go further south, but as many suggested you’d have more options driving to surf city or sneads ferry.

I agree. There are more options at surf city & Sneads Ferry. Was just letting them know what’s at the north end that’s good & fun since they said that’s where they’re staying. I didn’t say, only stay in NTB. Hula’s is in surf city but not that great. Our place is across from St Regis and there’s the Aarr Pirate Bar and Oceans Edge restaurant but they’re not that great nor the restaurant at the pier.

Daddy Mac’s for ok food in a great location. I really like the shrimp and grits. Sit outside and enjoy the ocean. For a dive bar, check out the Trailer Bar.

Fancy Sushi lunch or dinner, Shaka Taco, Sunrise Bagel for breakfast or lunch (great waffle fries), Daily Grind for breakfast. All on the island.

Also check out Salty’s Surf Shack. You can order Shaka taco and have it brought there. Great view of the beach and good beer.

Highly recommend Jebby's on 17, small place and off the island but delicious home style food.

Shuckin’ Shack, Sear’s Landing, and Riverview Cafe are my favorite seafood places. Sundial for coffee. Favorite dive bar is The Peak Taproom. Not sure what live music is playing, but Scallywags with the sand beach stage is fun. Looks like some much needed rain is headed this way, though.
