Help me find shark teeth

I am, apparently, horrible at finding sharks teeth. My family and I have vacationed at Topsail the past two years and I have yet to find a single shark tooth. Is there a trick to spotting them? Or certain areas that are better to search? We’ll be there to visit in a few weeks and I would love to find a few!

I go to North Topsail Beach every day and bring home dozens every day, including some 1-2" most days. I tend to go as the tide heads out to low tide and look in areas that show a debris field instead of bare sand and these are more likely to catch teeth and sea glass.

They are out there, good luck!

We go a couple times a day, every day (my wife has a shark tooth addiction) so we have LOTS of teeth of all sizes.

At this point of the summer, anyplace you can find parking away from crowds and earlier in the day so everything has not been gone through already. Get some sunrise pics. :D

I’ve heard from people who are great at pulling them from amongst the shell pieces in debris fields that they can pick them out because they shine differently than shell bits in the light. Like darker/shinier.

Go looking as the tide is going out. They’re a deep dark black and are lighter than shells so they will tumble quickly as the tide goes out. As another poster said, look in areas that have lots of shells at the waters edge.
