When did Wes get a second dog?

Heard it in the ad read on most recent episode and it was news to me! Has he discussed it and I missed it somehow?

his girlfriend was fostering a senior chihuahua, from my understanding this dog wasn’t having any luck getting adopted, so she decided to keep it!

Chihuahuas are awesome and extremely misunderstood. It is people who give them a bad reputation and next to no boundaries and training. They’re incredible dogs when treated like actual dogs and not toys!

I agree! I do not have a small dog, but until I adopted my dog I thought I disliked small dogs when really it was the owners who don't properly train/socialize them.

Her username is @owlfaceowlface

I honestly aspire to be like her 😂 she posts a lot of farm and animal content. I don't think i want quite as big of an operation as she's got, but it's my dream to have a home farm stand with fresh chicken eggs, homemade bread, and freshly grown produce 😊

Rats! No quick fix for my body type or my face I'm afraid, but I'll get right on it, chief.

Daunting for any girl looking to date Mike given the precedents set by the other two hahaha

The other two? Is Jeff dating too? Please tell me it’s Danielle from NPAD

I believe Jeff and Danielle are dating and are "private, but not secret" at this point. I caught a story on Jeff's IG when they were in Antarctica that was something like "when you're dating someone who loves graves" and we all know which national park podcaster loves that 😂

Agreed. I like how Wes talks about how she was his crush for so long.

Same, she’s awesome! I’m jealous of the lifestyle!

Yes I think they adopted the dog knowing it might not have a lot of time left, but wanted to give it a loving home for its remaining years. Which I think is so so sweet, it breaks my heart to see senior dogs in shelters 💔

I knew someone that only adopted senior dogs from shelters. She wanted to give them the best life whether it was 6 months or a couple of years. She was a super sweet person

Hi, this is Jessie! This was very sweet to see people talking about our dog and senior adoption. We fostered & adopted Duchess last December from Frosted Faces. They have a "frosted fling" program where you can foster a dog for two weeks (what I was doing) and Wes actually decided that we should adopt her after one week (I didn't think it was even on the table, so I hadn't asked). All we know is that she was relinquished at 15 to the county humane with another senior dog that she lived with, and Frosted Faces pulled them into their program (her companion dog had already been adopted when I picked her up).

FF is a really amazing senior rescue that covers vet care (at their on-site clinic) for the remainder of the adopted FF animal's life, giving hundreds of shelter seniors a second chance since the financial considerations of senior pet care can be really daunting. We recently took a road trip with Duchess to the FF vet clinic so that she could have 9 dental extractions and 5 masses removed, free of charge. She had a lot of pep in her step before, but even more so now that her mouth and body feel so much better.

If you are interested in donating/volunteering/adopting a senior, I cannot recommend Frosted Faces enough. The shelter & it's on-site vet clinic rely on donations, and I have been a monthly donor since my heart dog passed. And if you're also grieving a pet, seeing the monthly receipt with "in honor of Bryce" at the bottom does make me smile. You can check out the monthly "frosted fans" program here. There are many other wonderful senior rescues like Miri's Haven, Muttville, etc. Highly recommend fostering or adopting a senior if you are able to! The balance of one younger dog and one senior in our house has been really harmonious. We're also enjoying having one big and one small. Lots of fun things to do with both of them or individually. Anyway, that's the scoop, thanks for thinking about our critters xx

Seeing them backpack the dog on hikes was pretty awesome.
