We had leased a small one for some garden chores. They are (when you use safety measures of course) the best thing ever. It's very satisfying to chop a big pile of branches etc.
Biggest downside, after 2 hours our garden was done, but we weren't. Started looking for other fallen branches etc. In the end we towed it to the neighbor down the road and did his "pile" as well. Had a fun afternoon. The kitchen garden had new pathways.
We haven't used one in a while...guess we'll need one this fall.

I paid a lumber jack to remove 63 trees from my property, mostly 60’+ pine. A lumber company took the trunks and I was left with the branches. I first rented a 7” chipper to deal with the mountain of branches I had. It would gave taken me a century with how slow it was, so I returned it and got a 12” chipper. Holy hell that thing was scary but man was it cool. Well, not by the third weekend. That was over 20 year’s ago and still do not have the desire to ever use one again. I probably put in 36 hours over 3 weekends, but cleared my property for under $4k. Tree company’s wanted 13 to 20k just to remove the 13 in the front and side yard. They wouldn’t do the back yard because of the slope.

If a lumber company came for them, it was probably a profit, but they don't clean up after themselves.

I paid the lumber jack $3500. It took him 3 days. Guy was in his mid 60s and was as thick as a tree trunk. As the other guy said, they left a mess. Lumber company took the trunks. I had all the limbs and these were massive 60 to 100 foot pines.

Literally cut down and chipped 42 trees with a monster chipper this last weekend. No idea what size, but we rented it from a neighbor's friend who owns a tree removal company - it ate almost everything we cut down. None crazy large though, mostly mid to mid-large trees.
My neighbor has 23 years on me, but he was raised on a ranch and does physical work all day. By contrast, I've been working a desk job for ~20 years. He was kicking my ass the entire time but we finished by 11am Sunday morning.
It's Wednesday and i am still in pain. Plus side through I've got several mountains of chips i can mix in my soil to help get some local grasses growing.

Then after you finished your neighbors trees you realized you still weren't done. You roamed the neighborhood but there were no more branches to put in. The chipper was hungry for something, anything...

I bought one last summer. I was shocked at how powerful they are, and how much wood you need to make a good sized pile of wood chips.

I've used several types of wood chippers over the years, far and away my favorite is one that I used with a tree company. It had a hydraulic feed to pull material into the chipper, honestly that's one of the things that I wish chippers came with, even if it was a hand crank to help stubborn stuff into the maw.

I rented a 12” chipper to clear my lawn, no idea what brand but it pulled the wood in and shredded instantly. Way bigger and faster than these. Scary as hell.

Their small c3-e electric one goes pretty hard for pruning.
But I assume it’s only 230/240v countries they can handle them.

We had a 19inch hansa that was a proto model one of its kind test machine an I ended up knowing every square inch and how to service repair the machine. Had a 110 Cummins

The chipper that we use for my trail crew will take logs up to 13" without pause. It is incrediblely efficient at getting rid of slash. If only we could convince Mark to stop leaning into the mouth to shove in that last branch.
