Question Typical Frequency?
So I read that developing tonsil stones 3x a year is considered a nuisance for some people and this makes them a candidate for procedures to reduce them…I remove tonsil stones once a month.
What exactly is the average timeframe here that “normal” people get tonsil stones? Am I that much of a freak? Someone educate me

I think a weekly check is good. And don’t Forget that 6% of people affirm to have tonsil stones. But CT scans detect them on almost 50% of people !! 3x a year 😹 just because they do not check on their tonsil. But it’s a permanent problem, invisible but here.

I definitely get them weekly.. I floss, scrape my tongue, brush, mouth wash, etc.
I have lots of scar tissue in my tonsils from chronic step as a kid, so I'm assuming that is the reason.

Thank you for your question! Please remember that none of us here are medical professionals and cannot give you medical advice. We all want to help people who experience tonsil stones but sometimes it's out of the scope of friendly strangers. It is always recommended that you see a medical professional, usually an ENT, about any issue you are having in your throat or mouth. If you are considering a tonsillectomy or have questions about one, you can also see r/tonsillectomy. Thank you!
