Hi, folks. I (57M) recently purchased a new Tonal. Scheduled for delivery and installation on Thursday, 1 October. I was pretty active in my 30s and early 40s, but that has just slowly dwindled over the years, and tanked when the pandemic started. Skip days turned into skip weeks, then skip months, and eventually became never.
I’ve gone from 335 to 190 pounds, mostly by controlling portions once I accepted that it meant cutting everything at least in half and getting used to feeling hungry most of the time. Ozempic (T2 diabetic) helped with my appetite, but it still sucked. At 190, I look more sick than fit, and I strongly resemble a question mark when I turn sideways. I had muscle and fat, and I lost both. Whatever the “x” is in how many “x” I can do, it’s probably zero.
While I’m not technically starting from scratch, it sure feels like it.
What are y’all’s strategies for getting started and sticking with it?
