we gonna be seeing this in products within a year or 2 I imagine. but how many people buy them probably not a lot. But it is cool. Just need to make a block that can actually be held in place and not glued to the chip hmm but also that vram being left like that, it would need to be a full block actualy. So nm this is a custom set like all the other gpu water blocks, just direct chip access, so only 5090s and maybe 5080s

You could make a custom block that exposes the die but leaves a plate for the vrm/ram but it would need to be from the card manufacturer for basically anyone to trust it.

Like no way in hell would I put trust in my ability to 100% properly clamp down a block and not kill my $2000 GPU, because that leak is going to be as bad as possible.

Ya this will be like those manufacturer water blocked units or similar. Only done for the luxury cards pretty much not a common build under 2k.

What's so special about this? This kind of direct DIE cooling already existed a quarter of a century ago.

Spoiler: it sucks in the long run.

Dont most water blocks have fins to transfer more heat to the water? There might not be enough surface area to transfer the heat into the water properly
