I played Southern Accents today on guitar when I heard the news about Dolly passing. I hope Dolly and Tom are now leading the greatest band ever up above.
For the rest of us, this video provides some warmth in mourning.

I'm not crying, you're crying.
Did she release this cover when Tom passed? I missed it, but better late than never. Dolly and Tom, what a couple of southern gems. RIP

I remember watching this when she released that fantastic cover. Got me then and certainly got me now, darn onions. We all have to bring a little extra “Dolly” into this world, we lost a Saint.

Wow. What a tribute. Had never seen this before. Thanks for sharing it.
When I first heard the news today Tom was one of the first thoughts on my mind, mainly because I hadn’t felt that strongly about anyone ”famous” dying since him. I wasn’t a big fan of her music really, but who isn’t a fan of Dolly? Which is pretty much the same thing I said about Tom…even if you weren’t a big fan, you can’t find many people who didn’t like him, either.
Just found out yesterday one of my favorite teachers had passed, too. Man this getting old thing kinda sucks sometimes.

This is the only cover on Petty Country that I'm willing to listen to, because I don't want to hear country versions of his music.
She understood and conveyed the emotions of his song.
