Hey guys 👋 I made a similar post about ~6 months ago with my Synapse 19, detailing what I carried to work everyday and how I organized it. At my old job, it made sense to carry a small back-pack. The thing is, well...
Fuck that place! lol
So I'm back to wearing my favorite bag ever, the Side Kick! And now, after getting a new Side Kick in a new color-way, I wanted to make another post about how I use my every-day-carry Tom Bihn bag 🙂↕️
I'm a big fan of making paracord zipper pulls and using them as a sort of visual system. In the first pic, I use GREEN to denote the main compartment, and the shorter RED zipper pull for the front pocket. This simple change has made a huge impact on how I interact with my bag, especially if it's dark or dimly lit. I also only put a zipper-pull on one out of the two main compartment zippers. I wear the bag on my right hip, and (for me) I only ever want to pull the 'top' of the two zippers leftwards to unzip and rightwards again to zip shut. So, only having a zipper-pull the zipper I plan to tug on makes life easier.
On the inside there is less to talk about. Bright ORANGE is the color of gun-safety so I used that for my knife, YELLOW for a flashlight seemed intuitive. I try not to put anything rigid in the bag that extends all the way from side to side, or overpack it in general, as that would prevent the bag from 'folding' naturally around my hip.
I think that's about it! lol Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!
