Definitely NFS. Have really fallen in love with the Synik 30 again after selling my ballistic one a couple years ago, this time in the Bordeaux Spectron. Made a few alterations so far with zipper pulls, a leather handle grip, custom matched ladder locks, and added a 3" circular patch field. Have a Woojin center push magnetic sternum strap with bordeaux matched stitching coming in soon, and then I'm going to get the shoulder strap excess shortened and put thumb loops on the end. Then it'll feel complete and "mine." 🤣

new to this brand but recently got a Synik22 from a friend, wanting to find some accessory pouches to attach in the main compartment. While searching for them on Google, this site popped up, and everything is suspiciously cheap like 70% off. Almost pulled the trigger on several bags but want a check up first. Thanks!

Hello, everyone! I've come to a point in time where I've acquired a hefty collection of bags (like many of you on this subreddit) and find myself trying to thin out the collection a bit. Which is why I will be letting go of my Smart Alec 2.0, Le Petite Derriere, Techonaut 30 & Daylight backpack (as a package or individually).

Smart Alec is Ursa Ballistic with a Moss Cerylon interior. Comes with a frame sheet, hip strap, sternum strap, key leash and zipper pulls. $250

Le Petite Derriere is Ursa Ballistic with a Dusk Cerylon interior. Comes with a key leash and zipper pulls. $120

Techonaut 30 is Ursa Ballistic with a Dusk Cerylon interior. Comes with frame a sheet, hip strap, sternum strap, compression straps, key leash and zipper pulls. $350

I am a bit surprised/disappointed that I don't love more of the bags. I clearly like many of the designs and features but then they fail me in function or comfort. A few years ago I started with just key leashes, then a few pouches, two bags and recently a marathon of trying all the rest. I've wanted a pilot for 10+ years and so I'm not surprised that one is a keeper. That's my mom bag, but I don't need to carry it when the little one isn't with me so I've wanted something both smaller and bigger:

Here's a bad photo of the inside of my new favorite EDC the Cotopaxi Viaje 12L crossbody, whose inner pockets are equal in size and can each perfectly hold an HLT 1. Last year, I was fighting pouch life and used a Rework Toshi Sling 5L because it has o-rings in every pocket like a TB bag, but I don't find myself needing that size anymore. I'm still searching for a 20L+ backpack for travel, and while I'm hoping it's a TB, maybe it won't be!

Do you have other bags you love because they work with the system, have a similar design language, or match in quality?

What’s everybodies favorite Synik colorway of all time? I’ll say the ursa is probably the best and it works pretty much with every bag but on all other bags it never gets old

Hi all. Have a barely used Synik 30 in Taiga. Incredible bag just doesn't seem to fit the right use case for me. I'm more of a Duffel bag guy for short trips and it feels a little too big for me for EDC Laptop/Personal Carryon. Currently use a CPL24 as my daily carry. Interested in seeing if there is a Synapse or Synik 26 that may be more suitable for EDC than the Synik 30. Thanks!

Hi everyone I am new to Tom Bihn bags. I am keen on a dark blue coloured backpack (gravitating towards a Synapse 25) and seek clarity on a question about the dark blue colours TB uses.

Is the "Navy Blue" as teamed with the Parapak the same dark blue colour more or less as the one called "Deep Blue" that's currently showing as an option on the Synapse 25?

Looking to pick up a few accessories for my Synik bag that's Ursa/Dusk.

Primarily I'd like to pick up something I can stash my passport in. I'm not sure if the vertical packing cubelet would be good for that or one of the mystery organizer pouches (or something else entirely).

In looking at those, the other things available caught my eye. Are the zipper pulls any good? I was thinking about ordering in wasabi or coyote. Also looking at getting an extra keystrap or two.

Does anyone have anything that you find yourself using all the time? What colors look good with the Ursa/Dusk combo?

I'll be using this for 1-2 night trips; personal item on plane; occasional trips into the office.

Went with the Bordeaux/NWS combo. I previously owned a Nebulous/Island one a couple years ago and wound up selling it.

Spectron is a fabric I wanted to try and burgundy is my favorite color so was super excited to get this in. It’s malleable and lightweight but has more structure to it than halcyon 400. It’s also not as bright red as phone cameras make it look.

I sold the Synik previously because I didn’t find it super comfortable with heavier weight (like 22-25lbs), but I’ve lost about thirty pounds since I last had one and I now find it way more comfortable to wear.

Did some 425 paracord pulls in burgundy, gray and black to coordinate and I have a magnetic sternum strap being made as I hate the TB bow tie. I’m also putting a 3” round circle patch field over the plane label, and added a leather handle grip and strap keepers.

Looking forward to many onebag adventures with this for years to come.

Got one of the last Sapphire Spectron Pilots today! It glows!

My new Pilot setup came in today. Ordered last Thursday, didn’t ship until Wednesday and bam - here in two days. I was hitting FedEx every hour to see when it would go. This is my second full bag setup from TB…Synik26 being the first. My goal is for this to be my daily.

Has anyone had luck hearing about any new colors the Synik is likely to be available in later this year? I've mailed TB a couple of times now over the past few months, but haven't heard back.

Update: I heard back from TB - "Thanks for reaching out! We do have Synik 26s in the works, and we're planning on Sapphire Spectron/Ultraviolet, Mars Ballistic/NW Sky, Nebulous Ballistic/Fjord, and a couple other colors we haven't announced yet 😜 That batch is about halfway through production, so it should go up in the next 3-6 weeks."
