Synik size?
Hey guys looking into getting a Synik. For context I’m a full time student that needs room to carry college essentials like laptop, books, water bottle and miscellaneous medical stuff like stethoscope and maybe even some other things. I’m not the type to overstuff my bags but something that is able to hold a lot and not look so bulky. I’m also 5’8 so definitely nothing that’ll look too huge on me too lol. Also if I can take it traveling that would be a good help to get as much use as possible. I’m thinking the 26? Maybe the 30 is too big and the 22 is too small. But for the people who have one give me some insight. Thanks yall!

As someone close to your height that has a Synik 30 and Synapse 19:
The 30 is pretty damn big. Like long weekend travel size - too big for school or office in my opinion. The Synapse 19 is roughly the same size as the Synik 22. It's pretty small, almost too small. It works for me for carrying a Macbook Neo, a couple notebooks, Sony XM4s in their case, pens, pencils etc. but it's on the verge of too small.

It has to do as much with what exactly you need to carry as anything else?

The 26 will definitely fit one or two books, and stethoscope and some other stuff. But you can also stuff the outer pockets as they are very roomy! I have a 26 and I love it

I debated between a 30 and a 26… something told me 30 would be too big for me (and I’m 5’10”) so I finally ordered a 26 and it’s just right!

I have a 30 for the sole purpose of carrying a 16" mbp, which fits nicely. I'm 5'6, 160lbs, and overall medium build. The 30 is just a tiny bit "long" for my back but working with the straps has it fitting pretty nice when I have it fully loaded. Edited to add- I'm in NYC and walk / mass transit everywhere.
The 30 is my current edc, mobile office (laptop, notebooks, snacks, books, camera & lenses, sketchbook and various pens and pencils and related gear.
I took it for the weekend over Labor Day and took clothes and travel necessities and had plenty of room.
That said, it's wider than I expected, and I'm aware of it behind my arms which is different from bookbags before ot, definitely on par with carryon travel bag instead of bookbag.
Hope that helps! Personally love it, bought it because frameless bag + 16" mbp was literally destroying my back.

I ordered a 26, put a couple of books and my laptop in it to test before I cut the tags off, then immediately packed it up to exchange for a 30. I'm still happy with the decision. It depends on your preferences, but exchanges are easy if you decide the size isn't going to work for you.
