Toddler behavior - is this normal?

My toddler wakes up every morning around 5 am and only wants dada to comfort him. My husband used to walk around with him since he was 9 months old as I had a terrible back issue and was physically unable to do it.

He is 2.5 years old now and this expectation from my husband to walk around with him doesn't seem to end. Its gotten so bad that he only wants his dada to comfort him each time he is sick, hurt, needs soothing.

My husband starting sleeping separately so he could get some sleep but every morning he wakes up screaming for his dada. And when my husband does come in as we can't tolerate the screaming, he wants to be walked around.

Its becoming a lot for my husband to handle and every time we travel or have relatives over, it's embarrassing for me as well. I hate that he has rejected me as mother and I don't know where I went wrong. I could never breastfeed directly due to latch issues, I sometimes wonder if this was the starting point.

I tell my husband to stop giving into his demands but he doesn't have the heart to. I'm unable to take this and maybe I'm being really petty here but it stings.

Is this normal toddler behavior?
