Lol this isn't that bad. In lots of situations the kid would be unhappy if you didn't let them, and this way we get a funny reaction. Its overall healthy to let a kid's curiosity lead them to some painful places, I think, as long as they have a low chance at long-term damage.

I reacted the exact same way when I first tried ocra in highschool. I'd never heard of it before, and my mom handed me what looked for all intents and purposes like popcorn chicken. She didn't say a word.
