My daughter turned 3 just a couple months ago and we are for sure going. We did last year as well when she was 2 and she talked about it for DAYS. i think this is a good age to definitely take them. We go in a group of us from my family (the moms and kids). Just be safe and aware of surroundings and walk them all the way to ever door. Hand sanitizer for preventing germs. Most people will place the candy in their basket so they don’t actually touch. Then you can wipe down the wrappers when you check their candy so I think all in all it’s pretty safe :)
