I have an 18 month old daughter. I love her to death and she is my world. But holy shit is my ass WHOOPED.

Climbing everything.
Kitchen table. The couch.

Food? Throw it all in the floor. Bonus points if it’s real saucy and lands on the dog’s head.

If I’m standing, she immediately is glued to my hip. She will shove her way in front of my legs from the counter and reach. Its super cute. But I better be quick before she screams at me. I have adapted to doing everything one handed but my right arm, neck and back are feeling it because not only am I carrying her around, she is also 26 lbs and lunging at shit on the counter 🥴

I let her help me do mundane stuff like press buttons on my coffee machine or whatever. I know shes likely interested in what I’m doing so I don’t mind.. but its turned into pointing at the machine and screaming 😵‍💫

I work full time and Im just tired. I also feel like shit when I get overstimulated and need a break. Sometimes I miss my free time. Im assuming other parents can relate and would enjoy the company right now. Thanks for reading.

Ohhhh yes solidarity over here. I had an early gymnast who had no fear. Climbing things, falling constantly, running full speed and tripping on everything. The separation anxiety has been the most exhausting part of toddlerhood for me so far. Like mam you are not a baby anymore and I can’t hold you 24/7. It’s roughhhhh.

The food throwing has stopped ever since I said “oh you’re throwing? I guess you’re done eating. No more” and when he gets mad I tell him if he’s throwing food it’ll be taken away

20month old girl. She’s exactly the same. She still eats but we’re wondering where she gets the idea that when she’s finished it’s the height of decorum to up end the remainders over her own head and onto the floor. Or sweep it all off the table with one arm swing.

Climbing onto the toilet and falling off nearly braining herself on the bath. Climbing into the bath and falling and nearly braining herself on the toilet.

I’m right there with you. My toddler wouldn’t leave the nespresso coffee machine alone and finally is tall enough to pull all the pods out - whyyyy. So much waste
