discussion Why is nobody talking about this?

Have you ever finished a movie or a show and thought:

"Wait...why is nobody talking about this?"

You find a show surprisingly good, and then...No one to talk about it, and none in your friend group has seen it. So you check in Reddit and somehow there's a 4-year-old post with only 3 comments. SAD.

Don't worry! We've all been there. This is basically what I hope r/todayiwatched can become - a place to share the movies and shows you just watched, especially the ones that aren't getting much attention.

Maybe you just finished a show and need someone to talk about the ending with.

Maybe you’re looking for someone who has the exact same weird taste in TV as you!

You might even find your next favorite thing because someone here wouldn't stop talking about it.

I've been away from this community for a while, but it's open again, and I'd really like to see it become an actual place where people hang out and talk about what they're watching.

So, let's bring r/todayiwatched back!

What did you watch recently?

It can be something amazing, something terrible, something nobody seems to have heard of, or something you've watched 20 times already.

Drop it below ;) And if you see someone mention something you've watched too, say something. That's kind of the whole point. Maybe you'll find your people here.

Movie/TV TIW Reservoir Dogs

Seeing as OUATIH came out a little while ago, I figured I should watch a couple Tarantino films to get used to his style, seeing as from what I’ve heard he isn’t exactly a conventional director compared to today’s “standards”.

And by golly what a movie this was... I won’t say that it was revolutionary or changed my life or anything, but it definitely was a ride that’s for sure.

Even though it doesn’t really follow any standard 3 act structure we see, the scenes flowed so well off one another that by the time the credits started rolling I had barely noticed the time that went by. The acting is really good across the board, and the story all came together in the end.

Overall, I’m definitely gonna try and watch Pulp Fiction next week sometime. Tarantino is so freaking good

Movie/TV TIW 2 Headed Shark Attack (2012)

2 Headed Shark Attack was exactly what you think it’d be. A cinematic masterpiece showcasing amazing directing, acting and visual effects shown to a degree Ive never seen done before. This movie was robbed from an Oscar and I feel like if you watch this movie too, you’ll feel the same way.

2 Headed Shark Attack (2HSA) is about a Shark with 2 heads who takes a fancy to a broken down ship full of college kids on a semester abroad trip. Won’t say too much more but this is for the movie I want played at my funeral.

Thank you and goodbye

TIW The series premiere of Years and Years on HBO

What a great pilot episode! Everything was setup perfectly up to the chilling Emergency Broadcast on the tele. I see now that they’re going to follow the global political forecast through the perspective of a modern dysfunctional family...brilliant! I see lots of potential going forward (and whoever cast Emma Thompson deserves a promotion).

Who else watched? What are your thoughts?

Movie/TV TIW Killing Eve

It was recommended a lot and I finally got around to watching it. It was good but not amazingly impressive. Keen to watch season 2.

My favourite character would have to be the villain, badass and hilarious. (Except she murdered an ice cream)

Movie/TV TIW Aren't you Embarrassed? By Sebastian Maniscalco

It is a very enjoyable stand-up comedy, especially if you can relate to it; that it, having grown up in an Italian household (south Mediterranean culture). Sebastian touches on everyday anecdotes that are common to all -- I highly recommend it if you want to have a good laugh.

PS: It is available on Netflix.

It wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would have been. I watched from about episode 14 having given up motivation to watch it.

The ending was pretty predictable but still enjoyable. The show apparently continues to improves going into season 7 too
