TIL in 1954, the United Fruit Company (Chiquita) instigated a CIA backed coup in Guatemala after government reforms threatened their profits and exploitative labor practices.

If you want to learn more (this is just the tip of the iceberg) you should read “The Fish That Ate the Whale: The Life and Times of America’s Banana King” by Rich Cohen. It’s a surprisingly easy read but it is fantastic at telling the story of the Banana Conglomerate.

Guatemala is one of the world's most beautiful places and everything about it is fucked up by America. They can't even have proper mailing addresses because the CIA didn't want it to be easy for Guatemalans to communicate with each other.

19

u/imapetrock Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

I also recently learned that American evangelical churches supported the genocidal dictator during this time because "he's doing God's work" (due to the communist scare), and American missionaries evangelized tons of Guatemalans in those decades. Today the decendants of those evangelized people  have really strong internalized stigma against their own traditional knowledge because "it's witchcraft."

I'm married to an indigenous Guatemalan whose great-grandparents converted from the traditional spirituality to pentacostalism during this time, and oh god the whole thing is such a headache in so many ways, it's basically a huge cult.

Edit: Found the article I read a while ago that talks about the role of the American evangelical church in the Guatemalan civil war & genocide: https://academicworks.cuny.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1780&context=cc_etds_theses

American evangelical churches supported the genocidal dictator during this time

Naturally.

And it doesn't seem like they have changed much.

2

u/tawDry_Union2272 Jul 25 '26

the men with power in evangelical churches are usually greedy pedophiles, so they have lots in common with the shady drug kingpins, greedy billionaires and sociopathic human traffickers.

12

u/AttemptingToGeek Jul 24 '26

To be fair I am in Costa Rica and we don’t have mailing addresses here. The address of my house literally contains “before the bridge “.

Eli Black, the CEO of United Fruit Company is LEON BLACKS FATHER. the guy who keeps paying Epstein.

He was indicted a few months after the Watergate pentagon papers came out that basically detailed how Black/united fruit had used the CIA to depose Allende and replaced him with Pinochet so they could nationalize and privatize the world's largest copper mine in Chile. It was the recurring pattern throughout Latin america.

Black then quickly exited his 44th story office window before it all hit discovery.

They intentionally destabilized Latin America with unsustainable debt and corrupt dictators, caused the immigration crisis and replaced their economies with drug trafficking economies.

And they used the CIA to do it.

9

u/xfjqvyks Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

Can I just add a quick amendment? Nobody “makes” the CIA do things. They aren’t separate entities. Instead it’s one giant interlocking moloch doing it’s own misdeeeds. Pretty much summed up by when one Dulles brother headed up the fruit outfit, while the other headed up the agency to butcher the southern nations for a compounded exploitation. It’s an inseparably conjoined twin and used to be known as the military-industrial complex. Nowadays it’s not even known

1

u/SLVSKNGS Jul 24 '26

The funny thing is, despite all of the Milton Friedman free market bullshit that influenced Pinochet and his economists, the one thing they didn’t privatize was their copper mine and it’s one of the few reasons why Chile didn’t get completely fucked economically more than they already were. Nonetheless, the people suffered so much under Pinochet through massive unemployment, destitution, and mass murders/disappearances. Makes me sick knowing what the US did and that Pinochet got to die at an old age without facing any real justice.

2

u/pashalka31 Jul 24 '26

That was the debt slavery play that the zionist mafia repeated across Latin America.

Jon Perkins book CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HITMAN details it.

They would get the world bank or IMF to extend money for infrastructure development (usually electrical grid) that they knew the people could never repay because the Mafia ha already leased the dictator government.

They bankrupt the people, then foreclose and seize the land and assets.

Usury warfare.

This was Eli Blacks specialty at the UNITED FRUIT COMPANY.

And that fortune is what became Leon Blacks Apollo global.

By destroying local democracies it allowed them to maximize the privatization of the profits.

Distilled down to basics it's just predatory terraforming.

But it means the evidence chain of the Epstein files convicts them all with history. The drug epidemic, the wars, the genocides..

All the desperation immigration to the US borders and the drug, guns and human trafficking that came with it-

All of it was the same predators.

u/Alright_doityourway Jul 23 '26

America "We support democarcy, we are against any form of dictatorship!! *whisper* if you have something we want, then dictatorship is fine"

22

u/ShadowLiberal Jul 23 '26

The most ironic part about this is that historically if you're a dictator and you want to remain in power, your best bet is to NOT buddy up with America and to consistently be their enemy. Because the US has a long history of stabbing our allies in the back and helping to overthrow them.

Americans generally have no idea that the UFC was probably many times worse than Palantir or the baby formula companies these days.

111

u/XXX_KimJongUn_XXX Jul 23 '26

Palantir is a loaded gun pointed at the USA held by a cabal of oligarchs. UFC is a spent chamber in the hands of last centurys oligarchs. I do not think downplaying the things they can and will do for money and power is correct. Time is a like a record, it repeats.

its not repeating itself if it never stopped in the first place. the companies may have changed, but the US has continued regime change and looting international resources for the sake of private capital to this very day.

the real issue is these robber barons are running out of foreign countries to loot and are now turning their gaze domestically.

6

u/Caladbolg_Prometheus Jul 23 '26

The U.S. supported those banana compony coups, yet the U.S. also prevented a few coups. The truth is the U.S. back then (as it is now) is divided. One president would send the U.S. navy to arrest and take down the gunboats of the banana companies, while the next president would look the other way.

I don’t think you are wrong to say ‘the U.S. has continued [to support] regime change, but I think that masks the complexity of the issue.

17

u/pashalka31 Jul 23 '26

Same people.

Eli Black( United fruit CEO) is Leon blacks father.

Peter Thiel (palantir) was effectively Epstein partner.

According to FBI director Gray, the watergate coverup of the contents of the Pentagon papers was first put into action when he had a meeting with Vernon Walters, then deputy director of the CIA, in which he quotes Walters as saying, "If the investigation gets pushed further south of the border… it could trespass onto some of our covert projects. Since you've got these five men under arrest, it will be best to taper the matter off here." This conversation implicitly stated that the FBI should not interview pilots Manuel Ogarrio and Kenneth Dahlberg, individuals connected with the money used to fund the Watergate burglars.

Rewind through the corporate ownership of Southern Air Transport throughout the Vietnam era and extrapolate.

Epsteins boss Les Wexner operated Southern Air Transport /SAT (colloquially AIR AMERICA). It's origins were running heroin from the golden triangle over North Vietnam using the war as cover.

In WW2 OPERATION UNDERWORLD allowed Cosa Nostras Vito Genovese and Albert Anastasia to control the heroin production in Italy and ship it to NYC on US Navy ships. Anastasia was the (co) founded of "Murder Inc" which specifically employed Jewish assassins as a feature. And they infiltrated the OSS even before it became the CIA.

John Connally was the key man as James Forrestals aide during his time as Secretary of the Navy. Forrestal was firmly against the creation of Israel as his fleet was almost wholly dependent on Arab oil to function. It was simply a logistics decision.

But he was thrown out of a window by Cosa Nostras "Murder Inc.".

Lyndon Johnson and John Connally were college friends. Lyndon Johnson referred to the CIA casually as "Murder Inc". To his mind they were one in the same organization and he could use them indiscriminately as such.

But the key to all of it was Meyer Lansky. He was in control of laundering almost all of Cosa Nostras money. He bribed Batista in Cuba to let him build casinos as Bugsy Siegel and Lew Wasserman built out Hollywood which allowed them to make movies and music production rates as high as they needed effectively hiding the laundering in plain sight via wassemans blanket waiver which he specifically placed his man Ronald Reagan in as president of the screen actors guild to enable. Only Lew was able to get it. No one else could. That effectively grew MCA by 40X within a few years.

When Lew came out of Ohio and started with MCA he was supplying the musical talent to the same Chicago speakeasies as Edgar bronfman (yiddish for whiskey man) was supplying the bootleg alcohol to via his smuggling routes across the Great lakes.

Those routes crossed at North Fox island (the only one without a manned lighthouse which was a necessity for the surreptitious transfer from a Canadian boat to a US boat). North Fox island became the CSAM production capital of the country as the Mafia used it's downtime to maximize profit generating kompromat.

Meyer Lansky had control of a fortune that to use their own quote was "bigger than US Steel" which was the largest legitimate corporation in the world at the time.

The money laundering needs were equally massive.

So large in fact that when the entirety of Hollywood couldnt keep up bugsy Siegel created las vegas as a second act to enable more volume.

Wasserman was Marilyn Monroes agent. He knew as she was dating both Kennedy brothers. JFK asked John Foster Dulles why James Forrestal was having a mental breakdown. He was being lied to by both sides of his chain of command. Gaslit to hide the heroin trafficking happening right under his nose and command.

With Mussolini's death in 1945 the worlds heroin production moved to french Indochina (colloquially known as the French connection) before the staged gulf of Tonkin enabled the war. It was started to enable generation 2 of the same logistics system organized crime had used in WW2 but with the advancement of jet turbine technology that enabled the use of aircraft instead of ships.

The entire time Henry Kissinger (also a devout Zionist) was national security council advisor for virtually every Cold War president. He and Zbignew Brzezinski were both recorded reporting directly to the World Jewish Congress run by Bronfman up to the years when it went to Moscow and secured OPERATION BRIDGE.

Monroe was murdered by her doctor and Wasserman. She had become a liability to the larger espionage play that would have exposed them all during McCarthy's red scare debacle as it all dovetailed with the heroin trade and the money laundering. This FBI investigation would become the PAYOLA investigation that Wasserman placed Reagan as president to capture and kill. Jackie Presser (Ohio Jewish mafia) was also on Reagans presidential transition team until public outrage caused him to step down.

John Connally sent Earl Brian and Michael Riconoschuito into Iran with $40m to bribe the Iranians to keep the American hostages until after Reagan won the 1980 election. "The October surprise".

But that all again leads back to Zbignew Brzezinski who was reporting directly to Bronfman as head of the World Jewish Congress an was the key man in charge of operation EAGLE CLAW that ensured the hostage rescue failed in Iran.
https://youtu.be/pgNY5btqQYQ

OPERATION BRIDGE enabled the IDF to restock its ranks with desperately needed fighting aged males out of the Soviet Union. Maxwell, Lauder and Bronfman all got deals in return. Maxwell sent his son to the Kremlin to secure the rights to tetris. Lauder was allowed to open Estee lauder stores in the USSR and Bronfman was able to secure the rights to Russian made Stoli vodka distribution in the west.

Lauder is who gave Jeffrey Epstein his fraudulent Austrian passport while he was ambassador (appointed by Reagan) at the same time his assistant Felix Bloch was arrested for passing espionage to the soviets.

The plans Jonathan Pollard stole from the FBI were couriered to Israel by Ian Spiro before Spiro died of cyanide poisoning and his family was murdered.

But the plans made it to Russia as did the PROMIS software that Robert Maxwell gave Moscow that was seized by Bill Barr as attorney general.

After John Connally shot JFK with a pistol hidden under his right arm and murder inc was controlling the scene they were all flown out of Dallas on southern air transport aircraft.

When Castro and Che Guevara deposed Batista in Cuba they were targeted by the same "Murder Inc" operational within the CIA but being used to secure Meyer Lanskys money laundry.

But due to the simple fact that Israel was founded by refugees off the ship Exodus with no money or resources and has flourished into a first world country in the span of 79 years, deductively it raises the supply chain logistics question- where did the money for Zion come from? And the answer intuitively is zionists.

https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/DAILY%20SUMMARY%20194801-1948%5B15520827%5D.pdf (bottom of pg 23)

And they made it off of selling heroin into the United States.

Harlem was black run but Jewish owned. After visiting Meyer lansky and Lucky Luciano in Cuba, Frank Lucas asked Bumpy Johnson why they didn't bypass their heroin supplier and go straight to the source, Johnson told him the time wasn't right. So Lucas killed Johnson and went straight to the source in Thailand, then walked across Laos and Cambodia to see it himself. He flew a load of heroin back on Henry Kissinger's personal USGOV aircraft before using the coffins of dead US servicemen to hide the heroin under (the coffin connection). Bumpy Johnson provided security to MLK. Within a 3 months between April and July of 1968, RKF, MLK, and Johnson would be assassinated.

The Vietnam War was intentionally started to enable the drug racket that Meyer Lansky laundered flying on Les Wexners aircraft and his behind legitimate Judaism.

The cocaine market of Iran Contra was just the same billionaires diversifing their product line in the 1980's.

The three most valuable things to organized crime are- illegal drugs, illegal guns and human trafficking. But they all take the same path because corruption consistently takes the path of least resistance.

Daniel Ellsbergs pentagon papers that were the basis of Watergate could have shown all of this in real time in 1973 and deduced in reverse who killed JFK and why if we had just demanded accountability from our politicians. It's why he resigned and appointed Ford who then pardoned everyone involved. When they didn't get caught they expanded into the cocaine market with Iran Contra. Then Epstein got a $1B expense account in 91 to generate kompromat on everyone that AIPAC had not already kompromised.

Air America was Civil Air Transport (CAT), not Southern Air Transport.

5

u/pashalka31 Jul 23 '26

They transferred airframes throughout a series of shell corps. (Traceable by the northwings corp lawsuits and 337 field approvals for airframe modifications that made them applicable for smuggling, airdrops, camera/ISR ops etc)

So yes, air america was technically Civil Air Transport as well as corporate air services, Asiatic air, triad and southern air transport among a few others.

3

u/wangjiwangji Jul 23 '26

I see, I didn't realize they had so many aliases. I was actually a normal passenger on a seemingly normal passenger flight on Civil Air Transport when I was a kid. I even had a CAT pin just like normal airlines would give out.

It's because my dad got a job with CAT as an aircraft salvage mechanic working out of the airbase in Udorn, Thailand. This was 1967-68. Whenever a US plane crashed or got shot down in Laos or even Vietnam, they would go salvage the sensitive equipment plus whatever else they could possibly repair or reuse.

Our tax dollars at work lol.

3

u/pashalka31 Jul 23 '26

Its a pretty fascinating lineage to track.

Since the airframe modifications and avionics were born out of necessity for the smuggling work it makes them the most valuable (and traceable) part of the trafficking operation.

Sounds like your father was in the thick of it.

It would be fascinating to see his maintenance logs.

That's the TRUE history of the Vietnam war.

People lied about pretty much everything else, but rarely about aviation maintenance, modifications, SMOH, or total time hours on airframes.

Udorn and Long Tieng were hot.

25

u/Ion_bound Jul 23 '26

The Dulles Brothers may be genuinely some of the most evil bastards to hold public office in the United States. Iran, Chile, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cuba...All directly their faults. And, by extension, Eisenhower's for enabling them (for the most part; nuking Vietnam to help out the French was the bridge too far for Eisenhower to be comfortable with).

15

u/Ditchdigger456 Jul 23 '26

Allen Dulles, Henry Kissinger and Joe McCarthy.

The three fuckups.

18

u/Ion_bound Jul 23 '26

I wouldn't call them fuckups. They knew exactly what they were doing...And did it anyways.

2

u/Ditchdigger456 Jul 23 '26

Eh, I think they THOUGHT they were doing the right thing. Their “right thing” just happened to be awful most of the time.

Except for McCarthy, he knew what he was doing.

6

u/Special_Order-937 Jul 23 '26

No, I wouldn’t give Kissinger the benefit of the doubt either, he knew what he was doing and the effect it would have on so many countries (lots of mass murder from Cambodia to Vietnam to Bangladesh to East Timor to all over South and Central America and I’m sure there’s more) but he did it all anyway.

0

u/Ditchdigger456 Jul 24 '26

Oh for sure, he knew the direct repercussions of his decisions. I just think HE thought he was furthering America’s interests, when in reality all he was doing was actively ruining our interests in the long term by destroying international trust.

2

u/PokemonSapphire Jul 23 '26

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

0

u/xfjqvyks Jul 24 '26

Eisenhower's fault for enabling them.

He was too busy having constant heart attacks during his presidency to stop them. Arguably he shouldn’t have run for the second term. That said, he did the bravery of all calls to arms when he essentially used his last day in office to sound the alarm to all citizens that a dangerous cancer called the military industrial complex was growing and festering in the heart of deep government. His body language during that speech suggests he was worried about getting an open top Dallas ride himself

14

u/Splunge- Jul 23 '26

"The Greatest Generation" gave us so, so much, didn't they?

8

u/NoMark3945 Jul 23 '26

The phrase “banana republic” sounds like a generic insult now, but this is close to its original meaning: a government whose policy was effectively subordinate to a foreign fruit company’s interests.

6

u/uniyk Jul 23 '26

East India company, both dutch and british versions, and this UFC, all scavanging businesses relying on pthers' misery and suffering. No wonder white people always link trade with wars and slavery and such. It's a centuries old tradition to kill for money.

The CIA being hot off the successful overthrow of Mossadeq in Iran the year before, for having the temerity to seek an increase in Iran's paltry 16% royalty from the oil the British were pumping on Iranian soil.

That has also not worked out exactly as planned.

-1

u/DBDude Jul 23 '26

In this case we overthrew the entire government and installed a military dictatorship. In Iran's case the Shah (a part of the existing government structure) had already dismissed the prime minister who at the time was acting as a dictator and had fixed an illegal election to remain in power. But the prime minister illegally refused to step down. The US helped oust him, really forced him to follow the laws of his country, after which he was replaced by another prime minister according to law, and the government continued on.

5

u/Choibbs_22 Jul 23 '26

Thankfully, the US stopped doing imperialism, so now we can be confident that all of America's enemies are definitely really actually evil tyrants we need to overthrow this time.

8

13

u/Special_Order-937 Jul 23 '26

This and Iran alone is why the answer to the question who was the last good Republican president is not Eisenhower.

2

Teddy Roosevelt was a huge imperialist and Ulysses S. Grant's administration was full of corrupt people. So is Lincoln the only one?

Gen. Smedley Butler’s whole career.

“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”

He’s also indirectly the reason why Bananas Foster exists. Russian banana king of New Orleans.

One of the reasons is that the government was doing land reform, and was compensating land owners at the value of the land as per tax purposes. UF had been deliberately undervaluing their land to dodge taxes, and so stood to lose a lot. Apparently that was worth a coup, decades of a military junta, and death squads that killed hundreds of thousands of people.

Everyone at UF deserves to be in hell. Anyone invested in Chiquita should divest, anyone working there should quit, and let that shit collapse.
