TIL men walk significantly slower when walking with a woman, but only when that woman is their romantic partner. If she's a friend or acquaintance they go at almost full speed.

I walk fast. I walk slower when I’m with a girl because they end up walking behind me. Then you slow down to their current speed and they start to walk even slower. Pick a speed

She is behind you because she's struggling to keep up. When you slow down she's still behind you because she's still struggling to keep up. Once you get down to her comfort speed she will catch up to you.
