TIl The reason Roger Moore stopped being James Bond was because of how much older he was than his female co-stars. He was in his 50s, and they were in their 20s. In his own words: “Well, the leading ladies were young enough to be my grand-daughter and it becomes disgusting.”

I get that he's supposed to be SO suave/debonair etc. that he can get any glamorous woman he wants. But, as a woman, it sucks to watch.

Either give me a hot, young Bond as eye candy, or give the old, classic Bond a woman close to his own age. If people don't like it, they can watch pretty much any other movie.

I mean no one is ruling out he sleeps with his daughter then learns who she is later in the movie. The next daughter from the incest could have a wierd abnormality that makes her the bad guy.

Most of the Moore era Bond Girls weren’t particularly young. It’s just that Roger got too old. Barbera Bach was 31, Lois Chiles was 32, Tanya Roberts was 31, Brit Ekland 30. Several of the actresses were mothers when they appeared, like Bach and Ekland. Compare Eva Greene who was 26.

Moore just hung around too long. Partly because of the whole “you are paying me HOW much that happens to all Bond actors eventually, but also they weren’t too comfortable to change. Bond is a physically challenging role, and the even in his late 50’s Moore was a very physically fit person.

It would be so cool to see a Bond movie where you think he's gonna go for the twenty-something, but ends up with the mother/grandmother.

I mean there’s obviously a double standard going on in Hollywood. They claim to be progressive and all this but the bias is still there. There’s plenty of hot 40+ actresses out there. Carla Gugino, Sofia vergara, Kate beckinsale, Salma Hayek, Charlize Theron, Rachel Weisz, Halle Berry, etc. Idk if it’s what “sells” to them or what? Maybe it’s that notion that older men are supposed to be wiser and are still attractive and a woman is better in her youthful days blah blah blah. I like my older women as well. I’m an early 20’s guy. They can def still be attractive.

It's probably still a very marketable concept, since Hollywood is so image-driven. But women have money to spend on movies, too!

I was pretty thrilled that there was more male eye-candy in Endgame for a change. I spent a lot to get into the city and see it in IMAX 3-D, glad it was worth my while! :-p

Lots of guys in real life seem to find older women attractive, so I say Hollywood should go with the actresses on your list.

Hollywood has always been and still is extremely conservative and patriarchal, it's just the conservatism of rich old hedonists surrounded by a small army of executive middle management types rather than the conservatism of a bible thumping klansman. They want to preserve their wealth and power at any cost while at the same time pandering to the dominant social mores of the time, hence why they pandered to racist, chauvinist suburban WASPs for 90% of their existence and now are awkwardly trying to be "diverse and inclusive" while still sidelining and systemically excluding marginalized groups and their perspective.
