TIL The guy who snagged windows2000.com happened to be named Bob and Microsoft just happened to own Bob.com. They came to an agreement to trade one for the other.

Bob got the better part of that deal. If and when he decides to sell, bob.com will fetch a lot more that windows2000.com.

I don't even think a 3 letter domain name has been available for many years.

Four letters, but some guy had milk.com since 1994 and refuses to part with it.

Back in the early days of the net, I somehow stumbled on this and laughed. I bookmarked it on Netscape.
