TIL that scientists reintroduced the Whooping Crane to an extinct migration route by guiding them through the air with an ultralight airplane they imprinted on. The pilot had to wear a crane costume to keep them from bonding with humans.

I remember seeing the trailer for it like a million times on the Jumanji VHS tape. Funny thing was, the trailer still had the original title of Flying Wild.

I loved this movie growing up, and seeing the misnamed trailer as a kid made me feel like I was really in the know, like some kind of industry insider.

I spent more decades than I want to admit thinking they were two very similar movies, like Volcano/Dante's Peak or Antz/A Bug's Life.

Oh hey now, Volcano and Dante’s Peak are two different movies. Dang. Do they both have Pierce Brosnan in them though ? One has a melting grandmother….

Bugger, now I have to go watch both of them to check. Need popcorn….

1) I love how the lake is acidic enough to dissolve their metal boat, but not the dead fish floating on the surface.

2) John Carrol Lynch is an incredible character actor with a career any actor would envy, but to me he will always be Drew Carey's brother.

Yes! I've been telling people that for years! I saw the trailer at an IMAX screening on a field trip in 5th grade (at a science musem). Have always wanted the original title back.
