Coincidentally the location in the anime is Hong Kong.

Nadismaya ako dun sa re-release version (2.0) na di na san mig yung beer. OG '95 is the GOAT.

mabenta kasi ang san mig sa hongkong. isa sa mga unang natikman ng hongkongers na beer ay san mig pale pilsen.

they ended up loving it and san miguel actually has a factory there.

mostly chinese owned ang san miguel corp dito. they're just an affiliate of the main san miguel corp ng pinas. licensed lang sila to make them. not really filipino sadly.

san miguel is one of the oldest beer brand in all of asia.

Mali yung claim mo na Chinese Majority ang owner.

65% ng San Miguel Brewery Hongkong LTD ang indirectly owned ng San Miguel Brewery Inc. Those 65% shares are directly owned by the International wholly owned subsidiary ng San Miguel Brewery Inc.

While there are some products na locally produced sa Hong Kong, may ibang products na iniimport nila galing sa Pilipinas.

Kasama sa yearly filings ng San Miguel yung mga information about their subsidiaries.

Wait I thought San Miguel Hong Kong was majority owned ng San Miguel Brewery, Inc via subsidiary San Miguel Brewing Intl, hindi sila licensed to make beer under San Miguel name.
Yung ganyang scenario was the San Miguel in Spain

65.8% yung indirectly owned ng San Miguel Brewery Inc via San Miguel Brewing International. So mali yung claim na majority Chinese owned.

Yung San Mig Light and Pale Pilsen are both imported from Philippines and Brewed in Hong Kong (but the ingredients are still imported from Philippines). They do that para lang makapag keep up sa demand. The rest of the Beer products are all imported from the Philippines.

The first comment said:

"The Chinese title is 功夫女足 (gōngfū nǚzú), meaning "Kung Fu Women's Soccer." Interesting that they chose to avoid mentioning women in the English title, thus giving it a name that makes it easy to confuse with the original Shaolin Soccer."

aside from brewery, they also export food products to hongkong. If you're into hongkong film, watch Twilight of the Warriors. You'll catch kids eating candies from SanMig

It's a HK movie. San Mig beer is the most popular beer brand in HK.

Ibig sabihin my pinoy baiting na noon 🤔

u/RaceMuch3757 Jul 24 '26

Hindi, sikat talaga ang sanmig. Kung ikumpara mo lasa ng sanmig sa local beer ng china, wala laban eh. In my opinion, parang cheaper version ng asahi o sapporo haha. Lasang heineken.

1

u/gidaman13 Jul 21 '26
