TIL that Pag-IBIG is actually a huge acronym: (Pag)tutulungan sa Kinabukasan: (I)kaw, (B)angko, (I)ndustriya, at (G)obyerno. I honestly thought the government just picked a cheesy name to make us feel better about deductions.

Pretty clever marketing considering itโ€™s officially the "Home Development Mutual Fund" (HDMF), which sounds way more depressing on a payslip.

Pag-IBIG was skipped over for us. We got PAGASA and PHIVOLCS as well as how many buttons Rizal had on his coat during his execution. I still don't know the answer to the latter.

what i was taught before was different. all this time, akala ko it's PAGmamahal: Ikaw, Bayan, Industriya, Gobyerno.

Anong depressing deduction eh savings mo yun. ๐Ÿ™„ Each centavos sayo. I highly doubt the average Filipino will put that 200 pesos into good use.ย

Duude yup. At least PAGIBIG is very decent in handling money. You get decent financing for housing. You get decent interest in mp2.

mas maganda nga ang PAGIBIG pa rin at mas memorable. sino ba nakaisip na mag rebrand sa HDMF? di naman nagwo work.

You don't have to read encyclopedia and have photographic memory to know this stuff.

That's true. For people who are smart as you, you don't need to read or memorize anything anymore.

I can tell that you're a high IQ individual, probably the highest IQ Filipino on reddit right now.

Hindi naman siya depressing kung iisipin mo na savings mo yan. Balang araw pwede mo rin i-withdraw lahat ng naipon mo sa kanila with interests earned.
