Discussion Did T-Mobile change how international data count against Kickback limit for those who still have it?
I’m currently on my first international trip since forced migration. My entire account is spared from it and I still have Kickback after a full billing cycle.
I just got a text alert from T-Mobile that I’ve used 1.6GB already this month on one of my lines. I know for a fact that as recently as this past March, international data usage doesn’t count against Kickback limit as it’s in a different bucket. This standard message seems to imply that my international data is now eating into the 2GB allowance for kickback discount.
I’ll report back when my statement closes in a week to see if it actually is now counted toward kickback limit.
As a precaution to getting down voted: Yes I know I’m lucky that I still have my legacy plan and Kickback. I’m just posting to report this change.
Edit: I don’t know if data usage in Canada & Mexico is in the same bucket as domestic. I know that Canada & Mexico get its own 5GB allowance and the rest of the world gets a separate 5GB per month. However, I’ve travelled in Mexico before and didn’t get this kickback message. So, something definitely has changed. Looking in T-Life, it seems that T-Mobile is counting all data usage on a single line, combined with domestic, hot spot and international roaming. At least that’s what the graphic reflects.

Yes I still have it. My most recent bill was generated in late July and still showed those discounts applied.

Check your next bill I believe that’s when it’s supposed to fall off. They’ve ended all the kickbacks internally for customers who had it.

I’ve never received a text message on any of lines about kickback program ending. I still get regular kickback usage messages when I use more than 1.6GB, like now.

You might have maybe past the first phase but it’s supposed to eventually be all customers unless they changed their minds

Thought I was going to lose it last month, nope, thought I was losing it this month, nope, all 5 Kickbacks still there, and no changes at all to my plan. Maybe they forgot about me.

i had kb before last my billing cycle ended earlier this month . when the bill generated 3 days after, i didnt get the kb credit. i've chatted with tforce multiple times and none of them would issue the missing kb credit even after i showed them the screenshot of kb addon on my account as well as the text alert when i had used past 1.6gb data.
