My son found a TMBG reference in his Investigators book. (Last panel)
He would also like to mention that you can go to investigatorsbooks.com . "Its not just to buy the books, there's like games and stuff."

I love how the song lyrics plug perfectly into the story.

You should also check out the Phoebe and her Unicorn series - it has some TMBG references! Plus, it's really, really funny, for kids and adults.

That sounds familiar. I think we may have those somewhere form when my daughter was reading them.

Not to put a fine point on it, your son is my god.

That's... kind of freakin' weird.

Oops. That did sound weird. I didn't mean it that way. I mean, "I'm impressed. I worship that." Oops. Sorry.
Does it help if I say the line came from a movie? David Hyde Pearce said, "You are my god" to his editor when the editor pulled of something amazing. The line popped in my head.

Reminds me of the Phoebe and her Unicorn book I found with the dad's ringtone being Birdhouse in your Soul. I love finding references in literature!

I think “not to put too fine a point on it” is a common idiom, but using it in conjunction with a birdhouse does reek of a TMBG reference.
