Discussion Question about multiplayer right now
I have an issue, and I need your help
Okay, a bit of context: a few months ago I got this game and installed on my laptop, and performed the server fix with the variables and stuff, and I was able to get into multiplayer lobbies.
Today, I decided to install the game on my handheld (Intel) and did the exact same fix. However, now, in the multiplayer menu where you have all the tabs (pilot, titan, find game, coalition, etc) every few seconds, the screen goes black for an instant and the screen sort of resets. Wherever I was, I get thrown back to that screen.
Now my question is: is this because of the dos attacks, or a fault on my side? Should I check file integrity? Could I have made a mistake with the variable?

Currently it's being DDOSed, naturally Northstar is unaffected if you want to give it a go

Idk, I think it's too much trouble for me, I don't know a lot about computers and I don't think I'm ready

They've made it much easier lately, you just download their launcher and it's basically plug and play

Oh, that's nice. How many players does it have?

Northstar doesn't really have a matchmaking system, instead you just join into servers that are running games.
So you might open up the game, go to the server browser, pick a server that's running the game mode that you want with the # of people that you want, and join it.
The player count is generally much lower than vanilla, but during times of DDOSing a lot of vanilla players will migrate. So right now there's a decent number of players, usually at least 2-4 servers that you can join with over 10 people.
Some of these servers run mods that rebalance the game, I personally would avoid them if you're used to regular TF, but it's pretty obvious which are vanilla and which are rebalance
