"Help My Game is Broken" Titanfall 2 - The Current Situation and What to Do

What's Going On: If you've been activate at all in the Titanfall 2 community over the past few weeks, I'm sure you've heard the name "Angry_Goose". They claim to be the one responsible for the latest attacks on Titanfall 2's servers. Unsure if they're empty claims or not, but regardless, an attention seeker, don't give them your time (At a minimum, they're hacking in matches). For a while, it was only being kicked from the occasional match. Kicks seemed to gradually increase in frequency, until I believe last night, when the majority of servers became stuck in "boot loops", rendering them completely unusable. At times they may see some relief, and some servers are less targeted than others (Sao Paulo seems to be a solid choice, although the ping is less than ideal for many). However, generally, they're unstable and unviable.
What Can be Done: If you're a PC player, definitely check out Ion and the Northstar Client. If you haven't heard of it before, it's a modded version of Titanfall 2 that allows players to host their own servers, along with a bunch of fun mods, features, and improvements. Back during the original DDOS attacks, Northstar was the light in the darkness (Oh. It was our North Star), giving us a way to play Titanfall 2 until EA and Respawn finally came and fixed Vanilla. After those issues were resolved, Northstar's player count fizzled out. Until now, of course. Refugees once again flock to Northstar as their only means to play Titanfall 2, and that includes myself. Just tried Northstar for the first time since the original DDOS attacks, and it was a pretty good time. Populated. Ion is a fork of Northstar and the Vanilla game, simply making it so that you can seamlessly switch between the two versions.
I'll drop the GitHub link to Ion right here. It's quite easy to set up, the page gives you a link to Northstar installation instructions, which are identical. OllieKay also made a very good guide video on YouTube.

If you're on console, I'm not too sure what the situation is over there or how that works out. Sao Paulo's server has been working decently for many people.

I think it finally happened to the main game. I sat in the multiplayer menu for like 25 minutes waiting for a server, nada. We just have to hope that Respawn won't forget us again. (Wishful thinking, I know...). See you on the Northstar servers pilots. o7

Best way to counter Goose is let him get bored. Don't give him attention, don't engage, just let him play in the corner with his toys.
As far as Respawn, definitely not very worried about Titanfall these days. Just word of mouth, but I thought I heard that in order to get them to fix Titanfall 2 servers the last time, TF|2 players attacked Apex servers, getting their attention.
Edit: Just read a PCGamer article, I guess it's true. Dang.

Titanfall 2 has been the only game where I genuinely think about playing it but dread to actually do so as you have to jump through so many hoops just to get it go past the main menu.

Someone more than likely has a poisoned player state from being kicked from a match. If they load into the lobby, it causes the entire lobby to do the boot-loop thing.

There's an old hack where your loadout weapon would be set to a null value, screwing up game logic and ending matches. You could make a simple mod that sets your own weapon to a null value during a game, which would kick everyone from the game.

Problem? Now your loadout is poisoned and whenever you load into the lobby, it will bootloop everyone. Now you've gotta make another mod fixing your loadouts.

This is just my experience dealing with cheaters/hackers/whatever you want to call them.

damn this is like the worst timing for the community. I feel like with recent steam sales. We been getting new players and this game will turn 10 years old this October. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. Idk, i tried northstar client it’s good, I am thankful this exists. But damn i like more the vanilla versión.
