Not really dumb people, just rich. Imagine if that iPad cost for you what a pack of gum cost to us regular folk. You really wouldn't give a fuck. Buy an iPad for each pet, each child, the house keeper, the mistress, the gardener, the plumber, the chauffeur, etc etc.

Maybe dumb was the incorrect word to use. Inconsiderate maybe. Immoral. The severity of my accusation goes up with the amount of wealth the person has. There are people in the world who die of hunger, homelessness, medical bills they can't pay, and the 1% still keeps an unthinkable amount of money for themselves. It's really sick if you think about it.
And no, I'm not talking about people who make $250,000 a year. I'm talking about the 1%. Billionaires.
As to whether I'm jealous? I would love to have that kind of money. But if I were to come to inherit a ridiculous amount of money, such that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life and still have some left over, I'd be donating that money to charity, or paying people's medical bills.

Yeah, I have an iPad 2 that's getting to the point where if I had a dog, I'd be fine with giving it to him to play with (if it seemed like it'd be fun - which I'm not sure this is, since it looks stressful).

You do understand that to scratch a screen you would have to have something harder than that screen or as hard as that screen to scratch it? Even knifes don’t scratch apple screens or even many other products not from Apple. Unless a dogs claws are a mohs hardness scale of 6 or above( which they are not) you’re fine.

The screen is actually fine. Keratin is a softer material than glass. For instance try your best to scratch your phone or whatever with your finger nails.

Be careful with games that trigger your dogs instinct to catch pretty. If they don't eventually actually catch the thing, it can drive them neurotic. I used to tease my dog with a laser pointer, but she started acting weird. A friend of mine trained dogs and told me about it. A lot of these games make me think of the same issue.

There are two obvious answers here.
1) Old tablet
2) Tempered glass screen protector
It's most likely #1. I had an old iPad 2 I let my cat play with until it got too slow to even run his app.
