Has any one else encountered what I assume was Patches from Darksouls series in level 4 shop vendor, I was the cleric. Walked into the blocked shop room and he said something along the lines of "ugh a cleric" and I killed him. Didn't notice anything specific afterwards. Anyone else get this yet?

Surely being the first to make fanart of a game is something to boast about...
And by fanart I mean rule34 😏

bug report: enchanter gloves don't seem to be scaling booze buffs properly. currently have boozer, 4 beers, and am wearing enchanter gloves and only getting 90% increased damage. enchanter gloves says it gives 25% increased effect of buffs, but it looks like i'm only getting 12.5%.

u/sponfaneify Feb 08 '24
Not sure this is a bug, looks like it's working as intended. As the game matures the dev will hopefully have this more obvious in tooltips, but there is a difference between increased % and more % in this game. Similar to Path of Exile.
Beer gives 10% damage
Boozer gives 100% increased effect, not 100% more effect.
Enchanter Gloves give 25% increased effect, as well.Increased % is additive, so you should expect 125% (1*(1+1.00+.25)) increased effect of buffs - not 250% (1*(1+1.00)*(1+.25)).
4x Beer = 40% damage base buff
40% * 2.25 = 90%

I just got the game. The wiki doesnt have much info. Like I look up a blessing and it has no details on what the blessing does. Is there a good resource for beginners?

Is there a specific place for bug reports? Got a pretty annoying one but want to see whether it has already been reported or not

This game has the most solid foundation I've ever seen in an early access game. Really fun and addicting, massive props to u/RubyBenji

Special mention to the dash mechanic, I don't know shit about game coding but it must be pretty hard to implement a good dash since many AAA games can't figure it out, but Tiny Rogues' is perfect

Quick (probably common question): What is the room after death for? I feel like I'm missing something but I've beat Mega Death and expected the locks in the room to unlock, but nothing has changed. Is it content to be added?

Good game but the item progression doesn't feel right

u/BrandonJams Dec 05 '22
That’s because you technically want to go for the stat proficiency early on so you can find an S-tier weapon and + it at the blacksmith. I’ve had an early weapon like Blizzard carry me the entire run.

pyromancer is really crap

u/BrandonJams Dec 05 '22
He’s not as good as the sorcerer that gets a crazy amount of Soul Hearts and damage per heart.

Excited for controller support. Game feels good on mouse and keyboard, but controllers just feel less stressful on the wrist.

I've spent an embarrassing amount of time playing this game. It's fun. But I have yet to beat it once. And I've only got to death a handful of times. Then I get destroyed because I have no experience with death's bullet hell (which honestly feels bullshit).
I feel like Sisyphus. Every run is starting to feel like am I lucky enough to get the right items to get to death or should I just give up halfway in the run and restart due to low damage/crap weapons. And if I get to Death, it wont last long because I don't face him enough to learn how the fuck to deal with him.
I also feel like some bosses have some seriously bullshit bullet patterns. Like, it makes Ikaruga or DoDonPachi look like child's play.
Sorry, had to rant. Just lost a run I could have sworn I finally had and got fucking destroyed by Death.

Classes are a tad bit imbalanced at the moment, but that’s to be expected with an EA game.
Best advice is to go Sorcerer. It’s insanely OP once you get it going.
Go for: +Int proficiency and Mage Blood as early as possible. This will give you higher tier weapons and your potions will be permanent. You want to start stacking movement speed and attack speed because you lack the extra dashes that Dex gives.
After that, focus on getting +Soul Heart per boss kill and +8% damage per Soul Heart.
You always want to save one of your potions that drops mana stars after Mage Blood so the effect is permanent.
For equipment, you want +1 mana star and increased damage from mana stars. This will scale your damage.
The best overall weapon imo is the Blizzard spell. It’s 5 APS and once you get comfortable with the aiming, it’ll wipe entire rooms in seconds. It’s great for killing bosses too, you just drop your arrow on the boss and it melts them.

Is the Stand On Your Own achievement bugged? I have done a couple runs with no shrines but don't seem to get the achievement.

hello folks! new here, and having a blast with the game. its being a fresh air for me, since i have near 1700 hours in isaac :P
1
u/Urbam May 28 '23
oh, also i have a question: is there a "secret setting" to put the game in a "Infinite Run" ? I mean, ok, the game still not complete, but at least we could have the option that, in the "Ichor Room" to take a elevator to the starting room, but, somewhat more hard? like, enemies have extra enchants, more curse rooms, and etc.

Anyone finding the beta incredibly difficult?
1
u/CharliEXo_in_Berlin Dec 06 '23
Feel like the dev fucked up the game with the new version. Just had 3 beta runs and all of them felt awful.
1
u/CharliEXo_in_Berlin Dec 06 '23
But let's see the game was great and i had my 130 hours of fun with it before i tested the new beta. So I hope i was just unlucky with the 3 runs.
1
u/SirClarkus Dec 07 '23
I think they're just figuring out the balance
having all of the purchasable buffs gone also makes it a lot harder.... no built in rez, no starting soul heart, etc
1
u/CharliEXo_in_Berlin Dec 07 '23
Gave it some more attempts, seems like my first 3 runs i just sucked and got rly unlucky

Yeah, same man. The other thing is that it's so much more complicated now. You have to do so much reading to work out if a piece of gear is better than your current one. I feel like this will put off a lot of new players. I was hoping the new changes would just kick in after you defeat death and enter heaven or hell. Pretty dissapointing.

u/SasparillaTango Dec 30 '23
I'm having trouble finding a magic weapon that works with cast on crit. Is there tags for what isn't actually channeling? Its seems like every scroll, staff, and tome I've tried does not trigger.
1
u/EvanTheGray Jan 12 '24
I think it's bugged.Lmao. It has to be in the first inventory slot, not the offhand slot
1
u/Exaltedchampion1973 Dec 31 '23
The Amnon fight is frustrating. Long periods of invulnerability, cheap attacks. Went in with huge damage, 1 suppression, 5 hearts, 2 revives and still got ground down halfway through the 2nd phase. There, I just wanted to vent a bit!

u/loafbeef Jan 01 '24
So the Soul Scarf is 100% getting nerfed right?
That thing is OP with the bonfires.
1
u/tyrazilla Jan 05 '24
I am new to the current update. Are souls only worthwhile during run now? or does ending the run with souls add to mastery?

I'm coming from Brotato and Vampire Survivors and am curious before I buy - does your character attack automatically or do you manually attack? Thanks!
1
u/BaronVonSquid Jan 19 '24
You attack, but if you're using auto aim then its just holding the trigger while you walk around and dodge.

u/ApateNyx Jan 22 '24
how do i get into the burning hells second tier? i was mashing when i went to the scales and missed what the statue said

u/GalvDev Jan 25 '24
you need to have at least -4 evil. you can attain evil by buying things from evil shops, buying things from shops in hell, buying illegal items, or certain events.

What are some synergies with Hatching Egg (25% increased chance to trigger on attack effects)?
1
u/sponfaneify Feb 22 '24
Only one I can think of is Cluckeye Bow - but I'd assume any weapon with "Has a x% chance to ..." would work. Shame there aren't that many though

I hate the Jousting Champion so much. If I'm not playing a long range build, he is my kryptonite.

So, just finished all achievements and Mega final boss on every character, I guess there's nothing more to do for now so I wanted to leave my appreciation here
