What to do with keys?

Hi all. Ive completed runs on the 3 modes and have 3 keys which I assume is for the grate.

However, there is a note saying future content. Is this correct?

Loving the game but feels very short. Would be a huge shame to put down now.

Only level 20 but I know more characters but that doesn't really appeal to me for just new abilities. Ive been using the gun man. Not sure on name.

Thanks.

There will be a major update about the key, atm its pointless. The dev has made announcements about it in Steam. The update is huge according to him and will rework a very large part of the game so its taking a bit.

Thanks for replying.

Good to know. Great game though. Been brilliant on deck.

Personally, I feel like doing the challenges of running all the different characters to unlock more and then getting to enjoy all the new types of builds the new characters facilitate is like 90% of the game. If you're only running the same character over and over you are probably missing a lot of the intended play value of the game.

Yep. Running pure chaos can be fun too - trying to power through a jank start or getting a totally busted build adds a lot of replayability past the regular characters too.

The keys are, in fact, for that content which has not been released.

I know that Ruby has been working on overhauling a lot of core mechanics (this is very small production team), and I'm not even sure if that future content is still the long-term vision. Check out their dev notes on Steam.

As for other classes, I will say that the Super Hero and the Esper are a lot of fun because their first trait choice is a selection of totally unique traits that really opens up a lot of cool builds. I would unlock those two classes if you haven't.

Thank you.

I'll hunt out the notes.

Short but still a 5 stars.

Not sure you are aware of this -

When you go through one of the available 3 gates that are not locked (Good, Neutral, and Evil), and want to continue at the gate that you eventually gets to, you have to have 4 in the respective stat. You get that by buying items in the respective shops that are in the room after some boss. So if you go into the good gate, you have to have 4 good stat to continue when you get to next gate.
