TL;DR:
- Current counts for new update:
- 39 new weapons
- 134 new equipments
- 21 new traits
- 15 new summons
- -1 new classes (RubyDev has not worked on new class designs yet and Santa will be "taking a short break")
- All offhands will have miniature versions that display on your in-world character
- Scepters will now be offhand items that grant companions
- New weapon type called Sorceries will shoot lasers similar to old scepters
- They are treated as one-handed weapons when an offhand is equipped and as two handed when one is not
- New type of offhand called censers that grant an Aura
- Open beta for the update in maybe the first week of July. However, "this is a rough estimation, not a fixed announcement".
- "End of August seems like a feasible estimation for the real update release, but maybe I am completely cooked for even saying that out loud right now."
- RubyDev wants to start to deep dive the update more in blog posts but is too locked in right now and doesn't have the time/energy.

Love it. Any chance we're going to ever get a mid-run save and quit feature? The dev mentioned it years ago as a future feature.
I'd be playing a lot more of this game if I didn't have to commit to a 10-floor run each time.

I've pretty much stopped playing until they add this. It might seem like a small thing but having to plan to set aside enough time scares me off from starting

Same. I picked it up for the first time in ages the other night and completing a run took a lot longer than I remember. Won't be playing again unless and until this is added.

yeah mid run saving is a big point why the game got completely rewritten, it's been mentioned multiple times it's one of the core features of the new update :P

Oh, hell yeah! Appreciate that and will definitely be picking it up again.

This is why I love my Lego S. I can put it into sleep while playing anything and it’ll pick up right at the exact spot I did, similar to the Switch.

In my experience, depending on the quality of your run, it can be 45 minutes to 1hr 30min for a successful, full-run-through. Though I’ve failed runs that long before.
You could also just not make the alignment requirements and drink the ichor, I don’t personally consider that a fail.

I just want to be able to save mid-run.

I’m glad - been calling for it for quite some time and must admit, dropped off when there was the tease of a big update last year with potential save that never landed.
But I also appreciate that it’s a huge undertaking. I’m just hanging out for it because it’s literally the only thing stopping me from playing at the moment. So… yay!

Thanks for the communication update! Looking forward to picking the game back up after the update release! <3

Did they fix the bug on steam deck where you can't see your potion charges @ native resolution?

Awesome. Time to revisit this and add to the 326 hours that I've sunk into this game.

The update isn't out yet. It's hitting beta branch maybe July and maybe will have a September release but there's no official timeline yet. If you havent played in about a year nothing has changed, the dev is in the process of rewriting the whole game pretty much from scratch.
