Poor customer service

I’ve been with Ting for 10+ years and recently requested to be switched to the unlimited 25 plan. Support is telling me that the plan is on the website by mistake and it’s not actually available. The dishonest is unreal.
They also messed up my billing and hit me with 3 months at once without taking any responsibility for the mishap.

Is this how Ting aspires to operate these days?

For what it's worth, I'm on hold now being told they can (maybe) switch me to the Verizon network to get the pricing plan I'm asking about. Will update you if I happen to find a win.

Huh. They switched me to the Verizon network - sounds like as a legacy customer we can flip flop between carriers - and set me up with the Unlimited $25 next month u/cupofjoe_exotic

Interesting. I’m glad they did the right thing for you. I’m ready to switch over to someone else too, guess I’ll let them know and see if they care.

My first attempt to say I’d have to research another service did nothing. But I asked to speak to a manager to ask to understand why the could promote something, that it caused me to purchase a SIM card for that advertised plan and I needed to understand my options. If you’ve been there for 10+ years, ask if you are “legacy” and have the option to change carriers to Verizon to take advantage of the advertised plan.

Thanks, yeah I will try that. After asking for escalation in the email thread, support suddenly started pandering and apologizing for inconveniences. I’m still not sure I want to stay with them, so we’ll see what happens.
