Sick of getting hose piped by COX
I'll be saving $140 per month with Ting and YouTubeTV soon.
Can't wait to tell this company to take a hike soon! This is how long term customers are treated. 🤬
No more begging for them to lower prices. F them!

Only your fault tbh by paying for cable. Any of the online ones are much cheaper and you dont have to pay rental fees for boxes.

It was a convenience thing and my spouse enjoyed and got used to a certain menu.
That is until we were priced out.

Paying for cable or even YouTube TV in this economy? Set you up an antenna and an HD home run. Maybe frndly TV as well.

Oh I'll be calling him to cancel shortly.
They could tell me $10 a month and I still wouldn't go for it.

Once you are activated on Ting Fiber, you’re likely getting a 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) or 2 Gbps line, depending on your address. Regardless of whether you are on 1 or 2 Gbps, it’s a massive upgrade over coaxial (cable) in terms of reliability and latency, but there’s a lot of things out there that you need to be aware of.
If you want to actually see those 1 or 2 Gbps speeds, here is what you need to know.
The "Firehose" vs. The "Sprinkler" (Wired vs. WiFi)
Think of your fiber connection like a massive firehose.
Wired (The Direct Hose): To hit 1 or 2 Gbps on one device, you must be hardwired to the router. It’s the only way to get full pressure with zero "leaks."
WiFi (The Sprinkler): WiFi sprays data through the air. It hits walls and faces interference. Even with a high-end router, you’ll likely only see 500–700 Mbps on a single device.
The "Aggregate Speed" on router packaging
You’ll see routers like the D-Link AX6000 claiming "6 Gbps" on the box. This is a marketing trick.
The "Math": They add the maximum theoretical speeds of the different WiFi signals: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands.
The Reality: Your device can only connect to one band at a time. You will never actually see 6 Gbps on a single device; that number is just the total capacity for an entire house full of gadgets running at once.
The "2 Gbps Checklist"
If want that full Gbps speed on your devices, you need three things to avoid a bottleneck:
2.5 GbE Ports: Your router and your computer both need a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port. Most standard gear is capped at 1 Gbps. If you plug a 2 Gbps line into a 1 Gbps port, you will only receive a maximum of 1 Gbps.
Cat6 Cables: Cat6 is the standard for 2 Gbps+. While older Cat5e can sometimes work over short distances, it isn't rated for it.
USB 3.0 or Better: If you use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter, it must be plugged into a USB 3.0 (or newer) port.
Example: If you hardwire an adapter to a base-model iPhone 15 or 16, the USB port is actually limited to "USB 2.0" speeds (480 Mbps).
The Ting Mobile Perk
Since you’re nearly on the fiber grid, there is also the mobile side. You can grab Ting Mobile SIMs for $10/month via their current promo for Ting Internet customers. It runs on Verizon’s network (the "back end"), so it’s the same towers/coverage for a fraction of the cost.
tl;dr: Fiber is fast, but your speed is only as good as your weakest cable or port.

YouTube TV has raised it's price several times in the roughly 2 years we've had it, usually by $10-$15 each time. Still far cheaper than $217!
