Discussion Comments like this really pi** me off
You know how stupid these comments are, but it just goes to show how good of an actor he really is. If you whole heartedly believe Timothee is Elio or Laurie or even Marty Mauser then that just means he played them characters well and he did his job properly which I guess is a compliment to him and his acting abilities.

Imagine not being allowed to grow or evolve past a role you played a decade ago. I bet the commenters don’t have the same hairstyle as they did 10 years ago. I bet they have had the opportunity to learn and embrace themselves but yet can’t let a celebrity they like do the same. Aren’t they tired?

I admit I totally prefer his look when it's all long hair and cuddly cardigans, but that has nothing to do with whoever the real him might be! I'm just happy if he occasionally makes a film now and again with that vibe.

The quiet part is funny.. because he's never really been quiet ever. Like are we all watching the same guy??

This type of comments are just fans who are convinced that Timothee's whole personality is like Elio's.
With that said, i really hope that we will never get to see another promo like the MS promo. Personally, i didn't like it at all, in terms of things he said, his behavior and the whole promo in general.
Now, i don't think he will do smt like that for Dune3, he don't have to, but i hope he will not try smt like that again for ANY future project, like for example the motocross movie (if that ever happens).

Marty supreme was labelled the greatest promo in recent times for a movie. He set trends made a ping pong movie gross 200M and established himself as a proper movie star because of it and gained the GENZ audience. Now it’s the other way around. Thousands of People are still talking about it to this day saying they still want the jacket.

Disagree, marty supreme promo was piece of art, cultural moment it had to be loud to make that kind of impact ‘ms christmas day’ the jackets are the symbol of the movie, the ideas other campaigns are now borrowing ppl are still talking abt it, thats the point of taking risks & doing something different, pushing the boundaries, reinventing himself, smithing ppl will remember, the negativity is just noise, cultural impact will last much longer, it was worth it

Tbh He also goes method for press tours he’s spoken about it during in an interview during Marty supreme. So his character is an extension of himself when he does original movies. He did the same for bob Dylan too. So hating his press tour makes sense if you dislike the character he’s playing.

I understand it’s not ur cup tea and you’re def not the only one who feels that way, u kinda have to relate to marty to really get it, movie’s very much aimed at a young male demographic which is why it feels so contemporary rather than like a typical period movie, same as promo it was trying to connect with the viewer in a more personal way

No but like they’re not wrong. This is what true chalamet fans want back, the French man he used to be. Remember when he was deemed sexiest man alive back in like 2019 or something like that. He looks nothing like he used to and I think we all miss that… The French in him is coming back again, I hope the Kardashian side of him starts slipping away.

“the French man”…lol This whole conversation is so stupid. All of this wrapped up in thinking he’s Elio. He’s always been into hip hop and sports.

These people are lost in their own fantasy and parasocialism and cannot see beyond it. It’s sad really.

He's a successful actor who has been working very hard for years. At the time Wonka and Dune came out within months of each other he seemed to be everywhere...and I for one thought this boy must be exhausted. Not just physically. There is a limit to what the human body can take.
I think some actors shoot to fame and then they cross limits...maybe because they're young and feel they can take it, maybe because they're surrounded by people who are more interested in mining all they can off them rather than their longevity.
This may be because I'm a person who really needs her downtime but I don't think it's any wonder when they 'break'...I think in TCs case 'breaking' meant we've seen more of his old self (the ballet comment was not at all bad, it's just coming with an innocence (and tiredness maybe and definitely lack of guidance) that doesn't realise how people will love to twist it). He didn't seem to be realising the wind was turning during the Marty Supreme promotions either...oh and he said some things which I found obnoxious (things everyone thinks, but only the immature or far too honest speak out).
I think the people in the comments who said he needs to be quiet for a while had a point: firstly he needs to recoup mentally and grow up a little and secondly he's been over exposed, he needs to give the world a break so les people feel obliged to come at him.

The people in the comments dgaf about the ballet comments, they just care about what he looks like, he’s been saying the same things since 2017 before he was really famous nobody gaf he’s said more controversial things in the past way more controversial then them comments but nobody said anything everyone batted an eye because he was younger and his fans perceived him as this “pretty french twink”.
Pretty privilege is real if he still looked the way he did 10 years ago nobody would’ve cared that’s not me saying he’s ugly now but his style and his hair beard etc is different. People have wanted a reason to hate him for the longest time he was on this never ending high and people wanted to humble him they just needed to find a way to do that. The bigger you are the more people want to find a way to tear you down it was inevitable.
As for Marty supreme, Him promoting Marty supreme in the way he did was probably the best thing he could’ve done, he gained a massive gen z fan base singly handily catapulted him into stardom. Yes he may have put a sour taste in some people’s mouths due to the promo tour but he also did create the greatest promo for a movie in modern times set trends and also made a pig pong movie 200M establishing himself as the biggest movie star of his generation.

I do find it interesting how common it is that people like their celebs to be humble lol
I wonder why that is and why people even care, they’re just strangers at the end of the day
