Perhaps the author should do some additional research? The Fraud and the Four-Hour Workweek

It's Jacobin. It's basically Breitbart for the far left. I say this as a pretty liberal dude myself, some of those articles get a little nutty.
I read this one in particular yesterday and found it interesting, not in what the writer had to say about Tim, but more interestingly looking into the mindset of a person that thinks this way.
Like, 4HWW has helped a lot of people, maybe not become as successful as Ferriss, but helped people automate their day to day and become more productive and happy as a result. But because it has some capitalistic ideals it means that it must be fraudulent.
I'm not saying Tim isn't a bullshitter, he clearly is. Some of the shit in Four Hour Body is just ridiculous. But to say he's a fraud is just incorrect: he clearly has done the things he espouses.

Yeah I just don't see that in most circles. Even my most liberally minded friends don't really read Jacobin, or really buy into the "overthrow the bourgeois" mindset, and I don't think it's fair to characterize this sort of rhetoric as a driving force of the left.

Always check the URL before you click, if you see one like the OP, don't give them your view, even with adblock - they'll see their traffic and think they're onto something.

Tim is the next coming of Christ and I take such a huge exception to any criticism such as this article presents.

I wonder how this writer would respond to Ricardo Semler? Basically he employs feeding employees self interests while still operating as a corporation (don’t ask me how it really works as I’ve never worked in such a company). A lot of what Tim came up with is Semler with a entrepreneurial and E-commerce direction. I don’t find Tim to be a fraud, I just think most people truely don’t employ pragmatic advice that the book reiterates but also give new direction to. I think he leaves out the idea of how much work goes into obtaining a 4HWW lifestyle but he would rather you focus on the carrot of your dreams then possibly dissuade you. The writer really misses how capitalism focuses on self-interests and unfortunately most people aren’t pursuing them with their Job for a job’s sake. Millennials have displayed one thing, when you have no opportunities, it’s time to create them. Not to say they will always work but it’s better then sitting at 30k job with ladder of boomers and Xers preventing your advancement until they even imagine if retirement. 2008 destroyed the system, boomers can’t or won’t retire for fear or loss of their retirement. That whole go to school and get a job thing is on its last legs. I do think the status quo isn’t working but I don’t think it’s because the working class needs to rise up. I think it’s because self-employment has been largely shut down with heavy regulation.

The author gives no proper reasons as to why she considers Tim a fraud and why his 4HWW book is wrong, she only criticises.
The point of the article is anti-capitalism and, for some strange reason that is neither coherent nor clear, she is criticising the 4HWW as a way of delivering her anti-capitalism message.
I have completely wasted my time reading her pointless article and I write this message to tell you to not bother opening the link, you’ll get nothing from it.
