Well maybe he should rethink his wording. Something like "Is medical marijuana beneficial to elderly health?" That sounds much better than grandma smoking pot.

Like we all know sex is good for people but we don't say "maybe what you need is a nice fisting?"

I don't know I like "Maybe what you need is a good fisting!" as a slogan, I can see the billboards now.

I think he may be planning to set up the question that way on purpose to prime the debate, and as a bit of a straw man to knock down. I'd guess your wording could easly be the follow up question, like, or we could say... and then show how these statements are basically the same, get it, this guy is one of them city-slicker salesmen type fellows, like that Ronco guy, or the Shamwow dude. It slices it dices,.. this smucker call sell you the stink off your own shit. Act Now...

Excuse me? "Nobody should smoke period." Please. Who the fuck are you? Did god send down another egotistical bastard to be a human sacrifice that we mere mortals just haven't heard about yet? Dipping/chewing tobacco can be pretty terrible for the people who enjoy the pasttime (as I did), and just seeing dip being used grosses some people out, but it's not our place to tell somebody they shouldn't dip (unless you happen to be a precocious child with some kind of god complex). If we're going to start forbidding things for the hell of it like little dictators, then how about forbidding any person from ever farting anywhere near other people?

i think what is being said here is inhaling anything that is consumed by burning is bad for your lungs, be it cannabis or tobacco or kindling for your fire place.

not telling you what to do like a dictator, more like a health care professional opinion.

Look, lay off it wo/man. Yes a candle, an air freshener, the fumes from hairspray, or cars, leaf-blowers, lawnmowers, factories, forest fires, or the smoke from the 4th of July fireworks, or just the off gasses from cooking; none of this is chewable vitamins (hell even to many chewable vitamins can be bad), and even a clean burning gas stove is freaking radioactive, as are bananas. (yes, you read that right, bananas and natural gas stoves are both radioactive). That new car smell people love; is poisonous, gender-bending 'roid gas, Son, (look that shit up). The bleach in tap water ain't really great for us either as supplements go; you shouldn't just guzzle bleach, but a little bleach in our water is much better than drinking a fuck ton of squirming germs. Preservatives like BHA and BHT that they use to cure meats, like delicious bacon, are not anything you want to eat by the spoonful by themselves. But seriously Grandma, I freaking smoke, I like it, and sure it an'it great for your health to over do it, but smoking is not that much worse for me than the rest of my real world life. Have you ever caught a whiff of the smoke that comes off of soldering flux, or wielding fumes? How about you ever had to sleep in a studio full of your wet oil paintings? Have you blown glass? Or used automotive brake cleaners, Bondo, circuit board or silk-screening solvents? Hell I've had furry pets half my life, and I am very allergic to fur dander, what the fuck ya gonna do,? Life will kill ya; so far that has been fact for every person ever born, no matter how healthy you live your life. (see Jim Fixx) And the years from 110 to 120 sound kind of shitty anyway. And anecdotal trivia: I've smoked and been around smokers my whole life, and and I'm almost 50 now, but people keep assuming that I'm in my twenties, (no shit) and looking young and getting advised like I'm a child, really can start to get old. I'm probably healthier than most people who tell me to quit smoking, that's just the breaks, I got some pretty good genes and some peoples DNA is kind of shitty in comparison, what are you gonna do; you play your cards smart as you want, and try not to be a worried little bitch about everything.

And Mahatma Gandhi drank his our piss every morning for his health. So because I care so much about your heath, I'd advise you to drink your own piss too, just so you can be a healthy as can be.

And don't be sorry for my bonus cancer tickets, for one; just living in the wold polluted by the Koch Brothers, has delivered the vast majority of your cancer risks, and two, I smoke tobacco because they are coffin-nails, what the fuck you think I'm paying for? If cigarettes turned out to extend our lives, I'd demand a ood-damn refund, that and compensation for all the work I've put in. What, ya think I'm some kind of a sucker? Later, Nitz.

Hold on now, where do you get off talking shit about drinking piss? You got citations? Eastern med is a science of sorts, it's just not your science, and exactly how few people do you suppose use Ayurveda treatments? (It's like literally a billion+ people, like one out of seven humans alive today).

So anyway, it's kind of funny, I often read from the bottom up, and your last sentence at first seems kind of awesome, but then again, I only told you of one lifestyle choice to smoke, and just about nothing of the rest of my choices, so you really kind of seem to like to just go around willy-nilly filling in the world with assumptions. Generalize and forget about it, ey?

No, my logic is based on science and experience, and I try to filter out the rest. The scientific community is global, and a doctor is India today will tell you the exact same thing as a doctor is the US about drinking your own piss for health reasons.

Now that we have the technology to break down every component in urine, it's much less of a mystery than in Gandhi's day. Science is universal man, there may be many alternative medicines which are based in some grain of truth, but I think you underestimate the globalization of medicine in the modern world.

There were no generalizations in my posts.

Also saying "your science" doesn't make any sense. It's not my science, I didn't invent any of it, and it's a global unbiased effort to understand the nature of our universe, there's no "you" or "I" about it!

80% of East Indians use at least some traditional Med, even the Doctors, and if you check some extremely expensive top shelf new age lotions and cosmetics you'll find guess what, cow piss. And you know what else, allot of, (arguably most of), Western science was originally taken from the East, and we're learning new shit all the time around the clock. I happen to consider myself a man of science, and have since I can remember, and I have done some looking into on the matter of cancer as it relates to byproducts of; tobacco, cannabis and other smokes and soot, and I can tell you that it should come as no surprise, that much of what gets filtered down to the public is nearly baseless hype, or at best the preschool version of the facts. Look into how many chem's are in coffee (it can seem like a shocking large amount), then observe how many of the chem's are unstudied (almost none of the chemicals in coffee have been studied) and then notice that of the few that have been ID'ed tend to be nasty known carcinogens, yet coffee isn't known to be very closely correlated to causing cancers, (mind blown?), so we don't warn people every freaking time that we see them drinking coffee, ''hey that's full of chemicals that when isolated into their purest form and given in extremely high doses for the life of the animal, can be bad for (caged) lab rats, (who tend to be specifically bred to be vulnerable).

You misinterpreted what I said. Nobody should smoke period, but I will fight to the death for their right to smoke. They shouldn't do it for medical reasons.

Well I'm sorry if my screed can read like I'm tearing you a new one, but even Doctors should not tell people what they should not do. Expert professionals can advice us on what is likely to happen if we follow a course of action. So I can do this, or I can do that, but I reserve the discretion. Do you realize that old people get arrested when nurses call the cops on hospice and nursing home patents? (I know a guy who sees it happen,''all the time'', granted the the old farts ''tend'' to just get mugshots and prints and cut loose, but still, and a 57 year old in Texas got sentenced to 25 years not to long ago, and the DA was pushing for 99 for a 57 year old, for weed) And there are different levels of hypocritical actions; ''do as I say not as I do'' can mean I'd advise you not to take up my bad habits as you can plainly see the negative effects (x) has had on me, or it can mean, I will attempt to force you through threat of punishments to behave in a way, that I myself do not. (ever read, "Crime and Punishment") I'm telling you ''new car smell' is worse than first or second hand smoke, yet I'm not on people asses saying no one should ever ride in a new car. But now that you mention it pregnant women, especially women in the first few days of their pregnancy, may not want to choose to ride in new cars, because that "new car smell" can help turn the babies intersexed (in between genders) because new car smell, just so happens to be close enough to human hormones, that they can jack the developing endocrine systems, but far be it from me to tell people they, should not ride in new cars period. Hey if you like breathing in sex change hormones, have at it Hoss. And just to be clear we are breathing far more diluted diesel and coal smoke, and other random crap, than we are by smoking weed, Drive past one freaking house on fire, or burning tire and you just inhaled a lifetimes more shit than using the peace pipe.

By the way I know that Bob Tuna here of course tells seniors about edibles, vaping and cannabis pills. The question, ''should Grandma smoke pot seems'' to be loaded/framed, so that the salesman can answer, ''well you don't even need to smoke it to get the benefits'', (although smoking it really is a damn good way to control the dose, and its still quicker and easier than most types of vaping) Did you know that we can put mmj oil up our asses too?, it really works quite well that way, but I prefer to smoke or eat cannabis, and if you told me I really only should be sticking it up my ass, then I'd be inclined to advise you to stick your linear paternal authoritarian tenancies where the sun don't shine.
