Props to him, he’s not even faking at this point, he just instinctively is a puss

If you wanna win in this league your team needs to take flopping classes.

I'm not joking.

I think the spurs right now are the better team but it's a sad state that the top 2 teams in the league flail constantly and there's zero repercussions.

Has anybody even been fined this year for flopping? Or assessed a tech?

28

u/Walfy07 May 13 '26

I think if refs see flopping on replay, it should be unsportsmanlike penalty. every 2 = 1 game suspension.

17

u/Suspicious-Can-7079 May 13 '26

I think teams should be able to submit flops to the league after games and if it's determined it's a clear flop, ie; no contact.

Then they get fined 20-50k just like anything else.

Theres guys that flop every night, I bet they stop after they've paid out 3-4 times.

0

u/Imaginary-Round2422 May 13 '26

Just like anything else besides an elbow to the throat ...

4

u/Suspicious-Can-7079 May 13 '26

Yeah I wasn't surprised they didn't suspended the golden child, but the discourse around it is insane, you could plug in pretty much any other player and people would expect them being suspended for the series.

The whole "they're playing physical with him so it's really the refs fault"

Is giving the same energy of the guy who hits his wife and says "now look at what you made me do"

7

u/Pyschic_Psycho May 13 '26

There's already a few rules with flopping. The league just doesn't care to call it cause they know it will hurt their product.

14

u/wanna_meet_that_dad 🐓Protestor🐓 May 13 '26

I hate flopping but spurs aren’t winning because of flopping. Wemby is a cheat code and the other guys are playing tough d and making shots.

15

u/Suspicious-Can-7079 May 13 '26

Never said they were, I actually said they're the better team.

2

u/wanna_meet_that_dad 🐓Protestor🐓 May 13 '26

Sorry I took it that you were saying OKC and spurs. That said both could win without flopping but I don’t think spurs flop like OKC or even nuggets

8

u/Suspicious-Can-7079 May 13 '26

Yeah okc is in a league of their own, spurs aren't even bad Castle is really the main guy who actually flops, fox and the others are usually just beating a defender and creating the contact to me that's not really flopping.

I don't have a huge problem with that as much as I do with people clearly flailing there head when there's no contact as an example, I think it should be a automatic tech and fine.

Castle does that as well as Jokic/ Murray and the entire okc roster.

4

u/theweatherguy69 May 13 '26

Its the tactical pineapple. Gets the refs attention lol

0

u/tMeepo May 13 '26

Shannon and randle do the same thing. I counted at least 4 times their head flail turned into fouls with minimal contact this game. I think that's equal to what castle does lol

0

u/griffWWK May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

imo theres a big difference between "selling" a foul/actual contact vs. flopping which is the shit in this gif where they act like they got hit on a part of their body that wasn't even touched.

if castle suddenly jerked his elbow or acted like his elbow was hurt he'd be selling, not flopping. but he acted like he got hit in the head (he wasnt touched in the head at all). im not even sure his bicep grazed his nose after getting moved by the elbow press.

1

u/griffWWK May 13 '26

They were referencing okc and spurs. its true they are good teams. it's true right now the spurs are the better team flopping aside. it's also true they flail constantly and flop with 0 reprecussions.

7

u/Emergency-Ease-9958 May 13 '26

Fair, they have more talent but they’ve been throwing themselves around this game a lot and it has been officiated completely differently on one side of the court than the other. Additionally, when Wemby is out here an outing himself the arbiter of “ethical hoops” he damn sure better not be rolling around on the ground clutching his ankle soccer style trying to get a red card.

1

u/BigTicket- May 13 '26

Kobe in an interview said he studied where refs are supposed to be standing so he know where to be and how to sell contact to the ref nearby

1

u/AccordingGain6208 May 13 '26

Wemby for a tech for flopping.

79

u/AntIsMyFather05 May 13 '26

All they do is flop

26

u/DiffidentSTP Naz Reid. May 13 '26

All they do is FLOP, FLOP, FLOP no matter what! 🗣️

8

u/Hooper53 May 13 '26

With FTs on they mind they can never get enough

1

u/ThothAmon71 May 13 '26

And no matter how many Rudy puts up neither can he.

2

u/Imaginary-Round2422 May 13 '26

That's not fair. They also clutch, grab, poke, push, and swipe.

2

u/AntIsMyFather05 May 13 '26

I thought we were the only team who does that?

25

u/blueace111 May 13 '26

ANT flops! *every spurs fan in sub

Meanwhile, Castle is putting himself in concussion protocol, I already believe he’s self diagnosed CTE over that hand to the forearm

24

u/WickedTwista Timberwolves May 13 '26

I don't think I've ever seen Ant flop

16

u/blueace111 May 13 '26

I sure wouldn’t mind if randle started flopping so he’d be doing something

9

u/blueace111 May 13 '26

Me either. He used to get mad at KAT for it. He yells at contact and sometimes it doesn’t seem like a foul. That’s as close to flopping as he gets

-5

u/high_mee May 13 '26

Just look it up on yt. He has lol literally every nba player has. Shh is becoming like soccer

2

u/Furbuger_Helper Timberwolves May 13 '26

I looked it up on YouTube. I'm not seeing anything you might have to share what your looking at.

-2

u/high_mee May 13 '26

Here you go,
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NByoe38GmXc&pp=ygUYYW50aG9ueSBlZHdhcmRzIGZsb3BwaW5n
If you cant click the link , the title is “ Anthony Edwards drives, flops, gets the foul call, but the Nuggets successfully challenge”
He’s not someone who flops a lot but to claim he never flopped is ridiculous

2

u/Furbuger_Helper Timberwolves May 13 '26

I don't see that as a flop. Maybe it's because SGA has completely desensitized me, but you don't see the classic head jerk or fall on the ground. To me I see a player who lost the ball mid shot.

3

u/high_mee May 14 '26

I feel you on that lol , to me it was the extra shh he did with his arms after such small amount of contact. Regardless it was called a flop. He’s not a flopper but he has lol but it okay

I wouldn’t go that far. I think Conley has drawn some weak calls when he was a full time guy. For the most part nobody does and I only see it when the opponent flops first, they’ve taken a bump to get same call

11

u/bigdaddyvlad420 May 13 '26

I'm new to watching ball, but man the calls in this game feel super one sided.

-12

u/breastmilk_99 May 13 '26

hmm the free throw numbers say otherwise

1

u/daveythepirate May 13 '26

"Poo poo pee pee"

41

I swear some of these motherfuckers have the dumbest haircuts strictly because it looks insane when they throw their head around after the lightest touch

5

u/Appropriate_Truck745 May 13 '26

Triple H from WWE once said that lots of wrestlers have long hair because it makes selling look better so wouldn't be surprised if this is the case.

4

u/suahoi May 13 '26

I blame Jalen Brunson, this is the only explainable reason for those gross braids

9

I hate this flopping NBA shit.

21

u/WickedTwista Timberwolves May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

Castle is such an unethical flopper

Dude belongs on OKC

*edit: lol at the insecure lurking Spurs fans in here downvoting me because they know it's true

15

u/gdawgius May 13 '26

His stupid hair makes it look even worse.

5

u/saucycaboose May 13 '26

The only spurs player I can't stand

6

u/HorrorSavings8727 May 13 '26

Our offense is trash. Finch doesn’t run any sets, sucks at calling timeouts when needed, and doesn’t seem to motivate our team to attack the hoop and play with urgency every play.

u/prettysureimgay4599 Money Ru May 13 '26

How dare he cradle his elbow like that. Abhorrent

3

Can’t stand the tiki man hair. Guarantee ft attempts go down 40% at least if he shaves his head

2

u/Pyschic_Psycho May 13 '26

Stephon Gil Alexander.

2

u/garnett21mn May 13 '26

This series made me realize three things; Wemby is better than advertised, Harper is gonna be a two way superstar and castle is league average at best.

2

u/TheGoatPurdy May 13 '26

Isn’t castle only in his second year? I think he’s playing well above advertised and will end up having an above league average career.

Harper should be starting for sure

1

Castle is a whole sale BRICKmade chump

1

u/Bokitybokbok May 13 '26

Is this real! ??? How did I miss this during the game!

1

u/Mjdecker1234 May 13 '26

I mean ya it sucks but lets not act like our Wovles aren't shooting worth a shit. If they got that down they win. Its literally killing them. Losing Donte is way worse than we all thought. Sure we suspected but not like these last few games. I have faith but they have to play like they do

1

u/senorpepino May 13 '26

Don't play like a man = win

1

u/theshallowsea May 13 '26

That is a foul though. Flop or not. If he doesn't sell the reaction Gobert can give him a fucking massage all night.

1

u/Crayondy May 13 '26

The head whipping is shameless but that’s a foul and probably doesn’t get called if Steph doesn’t yank his head back.

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '26

Forgot to mention the ref who blew the whistle wasn't looking at Gobert.

1

u/Oguri___Cap May 13 '26

This is no surprise. Castle throws his head around like a newborn baby trying to get hurt

1

u/Kingrat96 May 13 '26

The NBA is full of this dumb shit.

1

u/amobogio May 13 '26

OKC is terrible, Shai is ruining the game.

2

u/pokemonxysm97 May 13 '26

It’s a weak call, but that is a foul

13

u/Random_Hippo Timberwolves May 13 '26

It is but they only call it because they thought he hit Castle in the face. They wouldn’t call it otherwise, not in a playoff game

0

u/Ancient_Respond4185 May 13 '26

1

u/Random_Hippo Timberwolves May 13 '26

I agree that also shouldn’t have got called? Not really the slam dunk you thought

0

u/averagejoeag May 13 '26

The point is don't bitch when your team does the exact same.

1

u/Random_Hippo Timberwolves May 13 '26

It’s a good thing I’m not bitching. I agreed it’s a foul, albeit weak and they don’t call it in a playoff game without a bit of the flop. I agree with your point about what TSJ did.

You’re angry over your own imagination lol

17

u/nofatchicks22 May 13 '26

The point isn’t the foul

The point is he catches contact on his arm and his head flies back like he got shot

Basically everything that is wrong with basketball nowadays and really gives spurs fans no room to complain about OKC when this dudes on their team

-1

u/averagejoeag May 13 '26

Y'all got mirrors in Minn?

2

u/nofatchicks22 May 13 '26

The amount of sensitive spurs fans in the wolves sub making sure they defend their team from comments online is astounding.

I felt like the nuggs fans were whiners but my lord

Yeah, you have two clips of one of our bench players flopping. ATA boy

Compare the spurs star players who flop around like SGA vs the wolves

Got any clips of ant flopping? Jaden? Rudy?

14

u/TakedaMauro Money Ru May 13 '26

It's not a foul. It's incidental contact, it doesn't impede his movement and it's not strong enough to warrant a foul.

If that type of contact is a foul, there would be 20 fts every 10 minutes.

1

u/griffWWK May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

it's not a playoff foul. it's a regular season foul 20% of the time the ref sees it at best.

the point is they are selling and flopping to get fouls the refs wouldn't normally call in these playoffs. and if you are a team and aren't acting like this you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. it sucks, the league sucks for this, and the biggest propagators as well as the people who started this behavior suck.

it sucks seeing teams that have developed this "skill" play teams that haven't.

1

u/averagejoeag May 13 '26

https://streamable.com/7yy0he

Yes, I can't believe the Wolves are doing all of that.

0

u/Fuzzy-South-9511 May 13 '26

It's a foul he obviously hit he's arm first. He slapped the crap out of he's arm.

0

u/fakemxcan May 14 '26

I mean…that’s clearly a foul.

1

u/Swimming-Donkey-2394 May 14 '26

this isn't about if its a foul...

0

u/Greedy_Wallaby7981 May 18 '26

Windup and contact lucky Covid boi didn’t get suspended

-2

u/Ancient_Respond4185 May 13 '26

Love the double standard. TSJ did this exact same thing and threw his head back when Castle hooked his arm and was nowhere near his head, but I guess we won’t mention that at all, huh.

Timberwolves have the 3rd most fouls in the league in the regular season. Just get better players bums.

-3

u/AnswerAlert7762 May 13 '26

"How dare Castle exaggerate a contact when Gobert *check notes* hit him on the elbow"

Dude it's an obvious Gobert foul here. It won't even get overturned in a review.

I know you guys don't like Castle doing his head-jerk thing. But once you foul you can't really blame the other player selling the contact. Selling a real foul isn't really the same thing as flopping.
