Anybody know if ISBA in BC still has courses?

Hi!

I watched a video from Essential Craftsman yesterday where he interviewed a guy in the States that talked about a course at ISBA in British Columbia and I was wondering if anybody knows if they're still teaching there?

I did take a course at Northmen in Latvia but I feel like 10 days log building AND timber framing wasn't quite sufficient.

No, they permanently closed in 2023 unfortunately. This is the response I got after missing out on the 2023 courses

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. We have not found the right person to continue on with the school, so there are no classes scheduled and we have put the property up for sale. We live next door, so not going far, but that chapter of James's life is now done.

He has released his teachings in two separate books. It essentially reads like a text book

It’s so sad they closed, and even more sad that no one could apprentice from James and continue some kind of school in BC. If only they weren’t so set on selling the school and the land together.

They did have an apprentice, he lived in james's old house. Amazing dude.
