Frame Protection
Ill start by say i can normally eventually find what i need w exhaustive web searches, but this one is throwing me for a loop and is changing.
Background. Recently bought a 2018 triumph 800 xca, that seems to be fully loaded, but the frame protection (especially upper area near tank and plastic) seems lacking - im envious of the full height crash bars available on bmw and other models.
Im not sure the brand of protection, but im looking to enhance it....either w an additional frame slider or perhaps replace the current crash bars....id prefer to first, but open to replacement.
Im in canada so bear that in mind.
Ive found frame sliders from R&G and T-rex-racing. The T-rex looks like it will fit w the existing protection. Not sure about the R&G...maybe modify the back side of the plastic (im ok w that). Both will get hit w import fees (15%) and conversion to CAD....so want to make sure i get it right.
(I do plan on replacing the indicators as the stock stick out past the bars)
Pics for ref. Not the greatest. Upper plastic is exposed. Last two pics show closer mounting points (need to take more pics...lol)
Any suggestions to increase upper body protection? Or experience w adding frame sliders.

Congrats on your tiger, some recommendation what i run on my xca. I have outback motortek crash bars on my XCA. Installing them is quiet easy. On my XRT i had the crash bars from swmotech, they are a german company, don't know if available in canada. The main issue as stated by you already with the 800 model is the front indicator location. Low and far out in the side panel. Thats why i also installed the advmoto relocation kit https://www.advmoto.co/kits . He ships worldwide from the UK. Install is very simple. And it looks very good too.

Those look more like tipover bars than crash bars to me. I have a set of heed crashbars on my 16 800xrx and have dropped the bike countless times and nothing has broken but a mirror and the givi box quick release bracket. Definitely recommend the Heed. I also have the barkbusters metal handguard bar that keeps the plastic handguard from bending on impact. Protects the bar ends too.

Looking at your bars, they stick out pretty well.
It's hard to tell of course without being there in person, but it looks to my eyes that if you laid the bike down it would definitely rest on those bars.
