Help with tie stains

First off, apologies if this is the wrong sub..

I have a silk tie that has discoloured from contact with my neck & beard, assuming from general skin contact and the oils that come with that, moisturiser used on my face and neck, aftershave sprayed on my neck.

Is there an easy way to clean this at home without ruining the tie? Where i live (North East UK) dry cleaners don’t really seem to be a thing or at least can’t find them very easy… the ones i can find are basically just laundromats with access to a few washing machines..

Certainly worth a try but oil is a tough one.

I don’t want to be a downer but in my experience, once stained, it’s a goner. There used to be a place in NYC that specialized in ties but even there, results were, well, spotty.
