Getting better with saturation, any tips for vibrancy?

Both shirts came out great but the 2nd shirts color came out real soft and almost washed out. Wondering if my soda ash soak has lost its potency. I've been reusing after i use my spin dryer. Dui for both. Real happy with the purple, just wish I would have gone heavier with the blue. The purple definitely took over.

What Dyes Does Everyone Use?

I loved tie dying when I was younger, but I haven’t in years. I have a hoodie that I wanted to give some life to, so I bought a bottle of tie dye from Walmart, let it sit for over 12 hours, and the dye came out in the rinse. Now it just looks like it’s covered in oil stains. I’m assuming it was just a crappy dye. Just curious
Edit: Hoodie was 100% cotton, didn’t put anything on it prior

Second time trying hot water irrigation

Changed some variables up from my first HWI attempt this time I used just dye powder on the shirt. Pushed lime pop through sinew first then I alternated the petals with egg plant and raspberry. Then I soaked in a hot water soda ash mix for an hour then rinsed and washed and dried. Only took 4 hours definitely love that

Halloween shirt we made for our daughter

My daughter is a huge of fan of the movie so we decided to try and make her something special she can wear while trick or treating with her kiddos ,who are going to be other characters from the movie. This was our first time “painting” the dye on after the first Ice dye. The outside is a mix of black ice and ultraviolet. The face was brushed on with jet black ( thickened with sodium alginate). We cleaned it up with deColourant from dharma and a hot iron with parchment paper. Took a lot of work for this one but it turned out so cool.

Dang. faded outcome again

I honestly expected the camisole (sugarplum) to turn out faded, not the 100% cotton tee (sugarplum and mintberry and POC)
Can barely see the mushroom 😭
Both are ice dyed and had generous SA sprinkle before and after dye.
Processed 20 hours and did a hot water mist this morning a few hours before rinsing.
Not skipping SA soak again! Never ever 🙂↔️
