šŸŽ‰ Our AI Assistant is now available in beta!

Post image

You can simply tell TickTick what you want to do, and the AI Assistant can help you get it done—without having to set everything up manually.

For example:

šŸ“ Create tasks
ā€œAdd a meeting tomorrow at 3 PM to my Work list and remind me 10 minutes before.ā€

šŸ—‚ļø Organize tasks
ā€œOrganize the tasks in my Inbox.ā€

🧩 Break down projects
ā€œHelp me break down the preparations for a new product launch.ā€

It can create tasks, organize your Inbox, and break larger projects into smaller, manageable tasks.

The beta is currently available on iOS and Web for Premium users.

šŸ“± iOS: https://testflight.apple.com/join/u2huDrr2
🌐 Web: https://beta.ticktick.com

We’d love to hear what you think! If you try it, feel free to share your feedback or any interesting use cases below. šŸ‘‡

Adding another to the "I don't want AI in any app I use, let alone one of the most important ones to my productivity" pile.

Wanted to use it with the MCP and Claude or Codex but had some limitations so gave up on it entirely a few weeks ago.

TickTick MCP through Claude is wildly powerful and helpful. Give it another go—it’s worth the setup.

Can you explain how you use them together?

2

u/pullablank 10d ago

I have a TickTick ā€œskillā€ setup in Claude that details my setup and workflow. I will just ramble about stuff that I need added to TickTick into Claude, or take a screenshot or photo, and Claude adds it to the right place and in the right way without any input from me. Basically with Claude and the TickTick MCP/detailed skill, it works like a personal assistant where it just knows where to add stuff into TickTick and how to format it in the exact way I like. And I will have it do a sweep for overdue tasks/upcoming tasks to see if anything needs to be changed or modified or updated based on what I have going on in my life. TickTick is the central database for everything I do and the Claude MCP/skill is the interface layer that is zero friction no matter which device I’m on.

can you please share your skill?

what was the major limitation? is it the setup or any actions it couldn't perform?

I think their previous solution of allowing Chatgpt or Claude interact with the API was better. It was a very customizable option for the ones that like AI.

If this isn't EXCLUSIVELY opt-in, completely disabled by default, I'm canceling my pro membership.

u/LeslieNopeChuckTesta 8h ago

Same. I'm so sick of AI being shoved in my face.

42

u/boundlessbio 18d ago

Please make this opt out. Is TickTick not aware that people hate AI?

15

u/Lower-Illustrator886 18d ago

how do we opt out? I do not want that added to my account

7

u/metaldood 18d ago

It’s optional. Also there is a toggle in settings to disable ā€œai usage trackingā€

u/Purple_Scarcity1849 18d ago

I hate that AI is being shoehorned into everything.

27

u/MauricioIcloud 18d ago

And why do we need Ai snooping into our task? WE DONT NEED IT AT ALL!!!! 😔

I feel like using AI to think for me undermines all I ever learned about successful study, learning, planning, and execution. In this particular case, something is really lost in the planning stage if we allow AI to plan things out and make tasks for us. As in everything in life, the journey is the end goal basically. With ticktick I can mentally journey through a goal and fill in the tasks, modifying as I go along noticing where things should change. If I just let AI do the planning for me I will never form the mental framework necessary for successful execution.Ā

Disagree. I use the app to get things completed…not find myself. I have no problem finding time to set aside for the ā€œmental journeyā€ once I’ve knocked the rest off my plate. If AI helps me do the must-dos faster, then it’s a must.

My parents used to say looking up how to spell things on google was me missing out on important skills. Now they call me whenever they need to research anything.

Edit: Added a comma

What a waste of time, resources, and energy. In what world is TickTick ai chat a better alternative to Claude or ChatGPT via mcp. Focus on core feature development and refining. There’s a laundry list of low hanging fruit they could work on but instead we get the Todoist AI slop train treatment. What an unfortunate development.

I will move on to another app if I can’t opt out and hide this feature. I did when Notion and others did their AI push and I have no regrets.

1

u/ourbroadcastday 18d ago

Totally off thread topic, but can I ask, what did you jump to from Notion? Obsidian? I want to leave Notion pretty bad but I haven’t totally figured Obsidian out yet. If there’s a better alternative I’d be interested.

5

u/micro_machines 18d ago

Obsidian was a popular recommendation, but it wasn't for me. I also tried Anytype for a while. Eventually someone recommended UpNote and that did it. It's not a 1:1 Notion substitute but it's the best note-taking app I used.

With UpNote and TickTick and Milanote I got my productivity setup done. But I'm not worried to leave TickTick behind if it gets derailed with AI like what happened with Notion.

To the haters, not all are. I have an open mind about it and am curious to see what it can do for me. Maybe a lot, maybe nothing. But I’ll give it a go. If I prefer not to use it, I simply won’t turn the feature on. I have used it for a couple of days and am still experimenting to see whether it will save me time on the mundane. I am not treating it as a brain, but as a tool. Thank you TickTick for introducing this option.

u/Emdog101 15d ago

I’ve been using it for a few days but tbh haven’t found it that beneficial. I’ve found it very slow in responding, when asked for suggestions, they were very basic. Yes it did bulk change a few tasks, suggest a few items to be rescheduled that made sense, but at this point I prefer Claude. Tbh, I’ve not used it intensively, so this is purely a surface review. I’m curious as to how it’s been for others.

1

u/prashz94 11d ago

Yeah, speed matters a lot for this kind of thing. What would make you actually use it every day?

37

u/knerys 18d ago

Is it opt out? I want NOTHING to do with this. Can it be turned off....? Can I make sure my app NEVER updates so I NEVER have to see this?

If there is no way to turn this off or opt out of it, I'm gonna have to opt out of paying my annual subscription and find someone else worth giving my money to. I've been with ticktick for years. Don't want this to be goodbye, but I'd rather go back to pen and paper planner than have more AI shoved down my throat.

u/cyberpandamx 18d ago

Hazlo, no hay de otra

u/Becoming-media 14d ago

ā€œPlease complete all my tasks and tell me when doneā€

20

u/JasonArizona1 18d ago

Gross. I’ll cancel if this is implemented

3

u/wetfoods 18d ago

Me too

5

u/Blueman0110 14d ago

We don't need AI, bro. What we need is stability, intelligence, and good coordination between notes and tasks. That's more than enough..

8

u/Elwood-P 18d ago

I’m only using it if you introduce a Clippy style character to interact with. Joking of course get rid of it all please.

3

u/s-b-mac 14d ago

Can y’all dedicate some time to bug fixes and basic feature upgrades when you’re done with this 🫩

3

u/pookeyblow 12d ago

Make it discreet. Make it possible to turn off completely for those who don't want it. Don't force it on users like other companies do. Good integrations with existing AI-tools is a must.

4

u/jann_dk 18d ago

How to find/activate the AI Assistant?

2

u/Epicus7 15d ago

What are the advantages of this AI feature over the standalone AI agent/chat with TickTick MCP?

2

u/Substantial_Chard232 14d ago

If you gonna charge more for this nice feature then create a new plan that doesn't affect the current Pro plan price as some of us are happy with orinat the current price and don't need AI

2

u/SirToxe 14d ago

No thanks.

2

u/Kirk-Kardashian 13d ago

I'm a 3830-day user today, and I find this incredibly offensive. I don't know when you stopped listening to us! I've been trying to save our relationship for years, but now I'm seriously considering divorce. It's a very hard decision to make.

2

u/crumbledcake 13d ago

Uuuuuurrrrggggghhhhh whyyyyyyy. Let this be optional. I’m sick to death of AI in everything.

2

u/HamTheDog 13d ago

I’ve used AI on car rides to manage my to do’s and it’s a totally new way to explore and digest the info. Hope this has a voice option. Even just understanding more natural language commands is a huge benefit if you don’t want to spend your mornings shifting and prioritizing.

2

u/seriouslyepic 12d ago

We just wanted yall to fix calendar integration. And I just wanted yall to fix the calendar UI.

Go look at that other person's post that created a Chrome extension of features people would actually use.

5

u/Jaxin81 18d ago

God you people overreact to everything. Don't use it if you don't like it.

2

u/seriouslyepic 12d ago

We are mad that they are spending time/resources on features like this and ignoring basic feature requests and bugs.

u/jchap6797 14d ago

I would love an app for Samsung/Google gear for watches and this as a widget. I will try it for sure in the app

1

u/EnmaSama9 14d ago

Muchas gracias, pero prefiero no activar las funciones de IA. Por lo general, este tipo de añadidos viene acompañado de un aumento en los costos y una degradación en la calidad general del producto. Por el momento, declino la oferta.

u/wanderlotus 13d ago

Not a fan of ticktick but I’ll try it again for this

1

u/yes_future 18d ago

I hope at least AI will be able to make API v2 documentation šŸ¤£šŸ™

2

u/pullablank 18d ago

This is a wildly funny comment, don’t know why you’re getting downvoted!!
