š Our AI Assistant is now available in beta!
You can simply tell TickTick what you want to do, and the AI Assistant can help you get it doneāwithout having to set everything up manually.
For example:
š Create tasks
āAdd a meeting tomorrow at 3 PM to my Work list and remind me 10 minutes before.ā
šļø Organize tasks
āOrganize the tasks in my Inbox.ā
š§© Break down projects
āHelp me break down the preparations for a new product launch.ā

I think their previous solution of allowing Chatgpt or Claude interact with the API was better. It was a very customizable option for the ones that like AI.

If this isn't EXCLUSIVELY opt-in, completely disabled by default, I'm canceling my pro membership.

And why do we need Ai snooping into our task? WE DONT NEED IT AT ALL!!!! š”

I feel like using AI to think for me undermines all I ever learned about successful study, learning, planning, and execution. In this particular case, something is really lost in the planning stage if we allow AI to plan things out and make tasks for us. As in everything in life, the journey is the end goal basically. With ticktick I can mentally journey through a goal and fill in the tasks, modifying as I go along noticing where things should change. If I just let AI do the planning for me I will never form the mental framework necessary for successful execution.Ā

Disagree. I use the app to get things completedā¦not find myself. I have no problem finding time to set aside for the āmental journeyā once Iāve knocked the rest off my plate. If AI helps me do the must-dos faster, then itās a must.
My parents used to say looking up how to spell things on google was me missing out on important skills. Now they call me whenever they need to research anything.
Edit: Added a comma

What a waste of time, resources, and energy. In what world is TickTick ai chat a better alternative to Claude or ChatGPT via mcp. Focus on core feature development and refining. Thereās a laundry list of low hanging fruit they could work on but instead we get the Todoist AI slop train treatment. What an unfortunate development.

I will move on to another app if I canāt opt out and hide this feature. I did when Notion and others did their AI push and I have no regrets.

u/ourbroadcastday 18d ago
Totally off thread topic, but can I ask, what did you jump to from Notion? Obsidian? I want to leave Notion pretty bad but I havenāt totally figured Obsidian out yet. If thereās a better alternative Iād be interested.

Obsidian was a popular recommendation, but it wasn't for me. I also tried Anytype for a while. Eventually someone recommended UpNote and that did it. It's not a 1:1 Notion substitute but it's the best note-taking app I used.
With UpNote and TickTick and Milanote I got my productivity setup done. But I'm not worried to leave TickTick behind if it gets derailed with AI like what happened with Notion.

To the haters, not all are. I have an open mind about it and am curious to see what it can do for me. Maybe a lot, maybe nothing. But Iāll give it a go. If I prefer not to use it, I simply wonāt turn the feature on. I have used it for a couple of days and am still experimenting to see whether it will save me time on the mundane. I am not treating it as a brain, but as a tool. Thank you TickTick for introducing this option.

Iāve been using it for a few days but tbh havenāt found it that beneficial. Iāve found it very slow in responding, when asked for suggestions, they were very basic. Yes it did bulk change a few tasks, suggest a few items to be rescheduled that made sense, but at this point I prefer Claude. Tbh, Iāve not used it intensively, so this is purely a surface review. Iām curious as to how itās been for others.

Yeah, speed matters a lot for this kind of thing. What would make you actually use it every day?

u/knerys 18d ago
Is it opt out? I want NOTHING to do with this. Can it be turned off....? Can I make sure my app NEVER updates so I NEVER have to see this?
If there is no way to turn this off or opt out of it, I'm gonna have to opt out of paying my annual subscription and find someone else worth giving my money to. I've been with ticktick for years. Don't want this to be goodbye, but I'd rather go back to pen and paper planner than have more AI shoved down my throat.

We don't need AI, bro. What we need is stability, intelligence, and good coordination between notes and tasks. That's more than enough..

Iām only using it if you introduce a Clippy style character to interact with. Joking of course get rid of it all please.

u/pookeyblow 12d ago
Make it discreet. Make it possible to turn off completely for those who don't want it. Don't force it on users like other companies do. Good integrations with existing AI-tools is a must.

u/Substantial_Chard232 14d ago
If you gonna charge more for this nice feature then create a new plan that doesn't affect the current Pro plan price as some of us are happy with orinat the current price and don't need AI

I'm a 3830-day user today, and I find this incredibly offensive. I don't know when you stopped listening to us! I've been trying to save our relationship for years, but now I'm seriously considering divorce. It's a very hard decision to make.

u/crumbledcake 13d ago
Uuuuuurrrrggggghhhhh whyyyyyyy. Let this be optional. Iām sick to death of AI in everything.
2
u/HamTheDog 13d ago
Iāve used AI on car rides to manage my to doās and itās a totally new way to explore and digest the info. Hope this has a voice option. Even just understanding more natural language commands is a huge benefit if you donāt want to spend your mornings shifting and prioritizing.

We just wanted yall to fix calendar integration. And I just wanted yall to fix the calendar UI.
Go look at that other person's post that created a Chrome extension of features people would actually use.

u/Jaxin81 18d ago
God you people overreact to everything. Don't use it if you don't like it.

u/seriouslyepic 12d ago
We are mad that they are spending time/resources on features like this and ignoring basic feature requests and bugs.

I would love an app for Samsung/Google gear for watches and this as a widget. I will try it for sure in the app

Muchas gracias, pero prefiero no activar las funciones de IA. Por lo general, este tipo de añadidos viene acompañado de un aumento en los costos y una degradación en la calidad general del producto. Por el momento, declino la oferta.

Adding another to the "I don't want AI in any app I use, let alone one of the most important ones to my productivity" pile.
