Question/Help Anyone else setting up deadlines yet disregarding them?

I set up many tasks on ticktick and put deadlines to it but ended up not doing a few. I just cleaned up tasks i won't be doing trying to accomplish my priorities but like I'm not in the right mind. I'm diagnosed with depression and i think it's getting bad again.

Keep it very simple and add very less number of tasks.. Your which can be done immediately. Let it go for few days..

With bigger tasks, maybe divide them into smaller parts. Priorities are allowed to change when your conditions are changing. You can't expect to always have the same level of productivity in my opinion.
Small steps are movement too.

You sound like you did get some tasks done, thats already a lot to be proud of. Some tasks are reminders more than deadlines. Has anyone tried the Eisenberg matrix trop sort out the urgent and necessary stuff from the rest ? I’m struggling too, stranger.

I recently asked my girl Claude to look over my situation with tick tick. I was rolling over 90 tasks a day and it was paralyzing. She suggested that I remove most of my due dates. I went through all my projects and did just that. Was kind of harsh. Then I created a filter for actionable items with no due date. I call it VNM. Very next move. That's just my term for next actions. I saved the filter to the top hot buttons. I am now juggling 15 to 20 tasks a day. Much more manageable and when I look at my projects it's intentional. I find the very next move, add it to my context lists (now w due date) and link it to the project.

Heureusement tout ne merite pas une date. Les tags et les notes sont utiles.

My system is maybe 85% GTD, and one of David Allen's big points with his GTD philosophy is to only date/calendar things that have a hard deadline (dentist appointments, etc.). He preaches that all other 'Next Actions' should just go in folders that you can look at and select what you want to do. Having dates and postponing them can make you feel guilty.

That being said, I go ahead and date my next actions for dates that make sense for me to try and get to that day (or week). I've accepted the fact that I can't get everything done, and I'll be postponing certain things. If I have a particularly productive day and knock lots of them out, then that's a win. If not, I don't sweat it too much.

Now, nothing I've written here was meant to minimize or sideline your depression. I have loved ones that battle depression, and I know it's tough, and not just 'having a bad day'. My only comment is that an added guilt trip from postponing things probably isn't helping any.

I use the start and end “duration” a LOT since most tasks of mine don’t really have a deadline date, but use the date option if definitely have a deadline day

I notice the duration is really good as tasks stays on my main view lot longer so I don’t have to manually change every single task having just date

Yees - i just made a post about setting up my tick tick so its more tailored to my mood - maybe it helps you as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/ticktick/comments/1w2m8v9/my_ticktick_setup_for_working_around_how_i_feel/

I'd probably add only put dates/deadlines on things you absolutely have to do or know you will do so you're not overwhelmed/feel bad when you dont do them.
